Sky Sports News racehorse On Demand is making good progress towards racing this August.

The filly is almost ready to step up her training after going through a growth spurt that meant it was necessary to ease off over the past month and trainer Andrew Balding is pleased with the progress she is making at his Park House Stables in Kingsclere.
Balding told Sky Sports News: "She has grown and that was the reason we had to back off for a little bit. She is probably standing 16 hands and an inch at the moment so it has been a dramatic growth spurt.
"I think it was important to back off her and not have such a hard exercise regime during that period. It seems to have done her good.
"She is beginning to fill out and I hope we can start faster work with her in three weeks' time."
Sky Sports News teamed up with Racing for Change to buy On Demand in a bid to show viewers - who have since voted for her name and colours - what it takes to develop a race horse.
And Balding is confident we'll see On Demand make her racing debut in the next few months: "She is more professional, certainly, than she was six weeks ago and I am hoping that if all comes well and we start the faster work in three weeks' time, we are still looking for the race course in August."
