Farraaj misses Sky Bet York Stakes.

Roger Varian has resisted the temptation to let John Smith's Cup hero Farraaj return to the Knavesmire for Saturday's Sky Bet York Stakes.
The five-year-old looked ready for a return to Pattern level when defying top-weight in one of the most fiercely contested handicaps of the summer earlier in the month and his trainer seriously considered this weekend's Group Two contest.
However, as the gelding has been on the go for a while and Varian hopes to send his charge abroad later in the year, he feels it would be more beneficial to give his Farraaj a break.
"He's fine. We've just decided to give him a bit more time to get over his run in the John Smith's Cup," said the trainer.
"He's a horse who could potentially have an international campaign in the autumn, so with that in mind, it's probably best we space his races out and we shouldn't forget he's a horse who ran in the Winter Derby back in March.
"He obviously acts well at York, so it was tempting to go back on Saturday, but we've decided to wait with the rest of the year in mind."
