The nine-year-old was well beaten on his seasonal return at Chepstow and was an early faller on his next start at Ascot, but bounced back to win an attritional affair at 25/1 on Sunday.
He is now likely to return chasing back at Chepstow early next month, before returning to the track on December 27.
Lee said: "It was a great thrill to see him win again. It was really just a speculative entry as he had the fall at Ascot but the ground went soft and everything just fell into place for him.
"He's fine this morning and obviously the main plan would be to go back to the Welsh National with him.
"He'll probably have one run in between, in the race he won at Chepstow last year, and then he'll hopefully be back there for the big one.
"He's obviously a bit higher in the weights than he was this time last year, but what can you do?"
Lee also had news of stable stars Knock A Hand and Hector's Choice.
Knock A Hand disappointed on his fencing bow at Chepstow, while Hector's Choice failed to fire in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree.
Lee said: "The ground was a bit quick for Knock A Hand last time and the plan is for him to go to Haydock next on the 23rd of this month.
