The five-year-old led until the very last stride on his chasing debut in a hot novice chase at Ascot, when Hadrian's Approach benefited from an inspired Barry Geraghty ride.
The Druids Nephew has been handed the same mark over fences that he earned over hurdles, 134, and Turnell is looking to Newbury's Hennessy meeting.
"I was very pleased with his Ascot run, he led everywhere but right on the line," said the Wiltshire handler.
"It's just taken him a little while to recover.
"I'm not sure of his plans as yet. His owners want to aim pretty high but I'd rather just win a smaller race first and then aim a bit higher.
"He might go to Newbury for a handicap at the Hennessy meeting.
"He did jump left a little left at a few but in the straight he was as straight as a die. It was a hot race and I was delighted with him."
