A point-to-point winner, Faugheen took a bumper by 22 lengths at Punchestown and landed the odds in a maiden hurdle at the same track with the minimum of fuss.
"He won his bumper well last season and he looked a nice prospect for some of the better novice hurdles when he won a maiden hurdle at Punchestown," said Mullins.
"He jumped very well that day and he seems to have the pace for two miles.
"He could go for some of the better novice hurdles at Christmas."
Felix Yonger faces only three rivals and two of them are stablemates, but all four are of a high standard.
Ruby Walsh is on the Graham Wylie-owned Felix Yonger, with Mikey Fogarty on Passage Vendome and Danny Mullins on The Paparrazi Kid.
Felix Yonger surprised a few with the way he was able to dispatch Paul Nolan's highly-regarded Defy Logic in the Craddockstown but faces a stern rival in the shape of Charles Brynes' Trifolium, an easy winner on his chasing debut.
"He's a really nice two-mile chaser, and ideally I'd like to keep him and Champagne Fever apart," said Mullins of Felix Yonger.
"His Punchestown win last time was a real eye-opener for me, and spoke volumes the way he beat Defy Logic."
