Now with Clive Cox after leaving Mark Johnston for 110,000 guineas, Cox has reinvented him as an out-and-out sprinter after the five-year-old spent most of last season racing over a mile and seven furlongs.
Second on his first start for new connections in the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket, he arguably bettered that when third on the Knavesmire after meeting trouble in running behind two Group One winners, Maarek and Astaire.
"It was a great run from him," said Cox.
"We're over the moon and it was great to see him go and prove he is capable of performing at that level again.
"He'll be Royal Ascot-bound now. He's in the King's Stand and the Diamond Jubilee and both races will be considered."
