Ratings experts Timeform take a look at the figures ahead of Saturday's July Cup

Ratings experts Timeform have Slade Power and Sole Power at the head of affairs in Saturday's July Cup field.
The Edward Lynam-trained pair secured a famous sprint double at last month's Royal Ascot meeting, with Sole Power winning the King’s Stand on Tuesday before Slade Power followed suit for the same connections in the Diamond Jubilee on the final day.
Slade Power tops Timeform’s weight-adjusted ratings for the Darley July Cup and handicapper Andrew Mealor is expecting him to come out ahead of his stablemate.
Mealor said: "Sole Power is still going strong at the age of seven and showed a tremendous turn of foot to land the King’s Stand for the second successive year, but the trip is clearly a concern, with all nine of his career wins gained over five furlongs.
"Slade Power, on the other hand, has done most of his winning over Saturday’s distance and is clearly the one they all have to beat having posted some of the best sprint performances in Europe in recent years."
Kevin Ryan’s Hot Streak and Roger Varian’s Aljamaaheer head the home defence and will be aiming to improve on their respective showings at Royal Ascot.
Mealor said: "Hot Streak wasn’t in quite the same form in the King’s Stand as when an impressive winner of the Temple, but the step back up to six furlongs is the bigger concern for one who looks all speed.
"Aljamaaheer could manage only third behind Slade Power at Ascot, but the stiff finish at Newmarket should suit his running style and he’s expected to be in the mix again."
The other interesting contender according to Timeform is the Spanish-trained Noozhoh Canarias, who finished sixth in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket when last seen.
Mealor said: "Noozhoh Canarias ultimately failed to stay in the Guineas, but he showed plenty of zest racing in front for a long way and it’s no surprise to see him dropping in trip.
"He was runner-up in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp last year and remains with potential."
