On Demand, the Sky Sports News racehorse whose name and colours were chosen by channel viewers, is still looking for her first win after being narrowly edged out at Southwell.
The Andrew Balding-trained filly, sent off a 2/1 chance, took up the running with a furlong to run of the Ladbrokes Maiden Stakes, but was caught in the dying strides by favourite Two Moons and went down by a neck.
It was On Demand's third start, but now she has put her injury problems behind her connections will be hoping that elusive first victory must be just around the corner.
On Demand's rider David Probert said: "She jumped out fairly well and they went a good gallop. I ended up taking the lead and she picked them up easily enough into the straight.
"I thought she had put the race to bed quite easily but, as it was, there was one finishing quite quick and, unfortunately, it came and done me on the line.
"But she is learning and progressing from every run. She's now got a handicap mark which will help her and she will probably benefit from an extra couple of furlongs.
"I think she's got more stamina than speed and I think stepping up to a mile or a mile and a quarter will help her. She could just use her stamina throughout the race and we could see an improvement.
"She's still young and there's plenty more racing in her. I'm sure she will be getting her head in front soon enough."
