GAA: Waterford face Wexford in the second round of the All-Ireland SHC qualfiiers
Last Updated: 19/07/14 6:43pm
Noel Connors returns to the Waterford team for Saturday’s All-Ireland SHC qualifier against Wexford at Nowlan Park.
Connors missed last month’s win over Laois because of an injury picked up in the Munster quarter-final replay loss to Cork, when he aggravated a groin problem sustained during the warm-up.
The Passage clubman is selected at corner-back and is the only change to Derek McGrath’s starting line-up.
Connors’s return frees up Padraig Prendergast, who is switched to midfield, with Shane O’Sullivan named at wing-forward. Jake Dillon moves to corner-forward with Ryan Donnelly reverting to the bench.

There had been concerns that Wednesday night’s unexpected defeat by Cork in the Munster U21 semi-final might create some injury difficulties for the seniors but McGrath has been able to name a full-strength selection.
All four seniors who featured on the U21 team – Tadhg de Burca, Colin Dunford, Jake Dillon and Austin Gleeson – came through unscathed.
Wexford, who recorded a thrilling extra-time victory over Clare in last weekend’s first round qualifier replay, have yet to name their starting 15.
Saturday’s game is just the third championship meeting between the south-east neighbours. They first met in 2003 when Wexford won a qualifier tie by 1-20 to 0-18 at Nowlan Park, while Waterford were one-point victors in the 2008 All-Ireland quarter-final in Thurles.
The winners will play Limerick in the last-eight of the All-Ireland on Sunday week.
Waterford: S O'Keeffe; S Fives, L Lawlor, N Connors; D Fives, K Moran, T de Burca; M Walsh, P Prendergast; S O'Sullivan, P Mahony, A Gleeson; C Dunford, S Walsh, J Dillon.
