With 13 goals in total, the Giants were victors with an 8-5 win with numerous ejections for the home side, totalling 119 penalty minutes to Giants' 34.
There were doubles from Noah Clarke and David Phillips of Giants as well as Blaze's Dustin Cameron.
The Skydome was alight with a frantic match, with the Giants 7-4 ahead after two periods. The third settled down slightly, and although Greg Leeb scored Blaze's fifth at 41.59, Phillips completed the scoring for Giants at 57.51 to secure the thrilling victory.
Meanwhile, the Edinburgh Capitals ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory at home against the Cardiff Devils.
Following the Devils' impressive win in Braehead on Saturday night, they could not continue their winning run.
The home side were boosted by a back-to-form Rene Jarolin, who was involved in every goal, scoring 2+2. Netminder Tomas Hiadlovsky was equally as impressive at the other end of the ice, stopping 29 of the 31 shots fired on him.
A 53rd-minute effort by player/coach Sylvain Cloutier proved enough to see Hull Stingrays to a 3-2 victory over Fife Flyers in another very close game between the two sides.
The loss dashed Flyers hopes of building on Saturday night's first win in seven yet it is now four wins in five for Stingrays.
Elsewhere and in the Challenge Cup Group B, Sheffield Steelers edged Nottingham Panthers 4-3 after overtime in a thrilling encounter.
It was Tom Sestito who won it for the home side in the 64th minute, with never more than a goal between the teams all night.
