England and France will renew hostilities on Saturday in their fifth World Cup clash in seven tournaments.

Ahead of the match at Eden Park, skysports.com looks back on some classic 'Le Crunch' ties from years gone past.

2011 - England 17 France 9

France coach Marc Lievremont stirred up a media storm ahead of the RBS Six Nations clash by saying the other sides in the competition had one thing in common, "we all don't like the English". England did little to improve Anglo-Franco relations by winning 17-9.

2007 - France 9 England 14

Having beaten tournament favourites New Zealand in stunning fashion in the quarter-finals, there was a feeling 2007 could be France's year, especially as a misfiring England awaited in the last-four. An opening minute try from Josh Lewsey and the boot of Jonny Wilkinson broke their hearts.

2003 - England 24 France 7

Honours were even between the old foes in the two warm-up games leading into the 2003 World Cup, however it was England who dominated an emotionally-charged semi-final. Jonny Wilkinson's boot and the efforts of Richard Hill saw England in the final.

1995 - England 9 France 19

A lacklustre England display saw them overcome in the 1995 RWC bronze medal match. Still reeling from their Jonah Lomu nightmare in the last-four, England conceded tries to Emile Ntamack and Olivier Roumat.

1991 - France 10 England 19

"Le Crunch" became "Le Munch", with the 1991 quarter-final win better remembered for a massive tackle from Mick Skinner on Marc Cecillon. Inspired by the driving hit from Skinner, known as Munch, England went on to power to victory in Paris.

1980 - France 13 England 17

England ended a 16-year wait for victory on French soil as Bill Beaumont's men continued their charge to the Grand Slam. John Horton's two drop-goal's proved vital following tries from John Carleton and Nick Preston.

1972 - France 37 England 12

England endured a day to forget in Colombes as they suffered a record loss to Les Bleus. France, led by the talismanic Walter Spanghero, ran in six tries as England were completely outplayed.

1947 - England 6 France 3

Hostilities between England and France were finally resumed after a 16-year absence due to the expulsion of the French from the Five Nations Championship and then the outbreak of the Second World War. Dickie Guest and Vic Roberts scored England's tries in a battling victory.

1911 - England 37 France 0

Daniel Lambert scored 22 of England's points in the record victory at Twickenham. England scored six tries in total, including one for Adrian Stoop, the legendary fly-half whom Harlequins' ground is named after.

1906 - France 8 England 35

The first-ever international between England and France took place at the Parc de France, with Arthur Hudson guiding the visitors to a big victory. Hudson scored four of England's nine tries to give France every reason not to like their old foes.
