Khan: first defence
Amir Khan is looking forward to some high-profile fights if he successfully defends his WBA light-welterweight title in Newcastle tonight.
The 22-year-old Briton takes on mandatory challenger Dmitriy Salita in his first defence but he already has his eye on unification opportunities in 2010.
"It's crazy how many possible fights there are," said the Bolton fighter.
"I was in Vegas and I heard Zab Judah (former two-weight world champion) is coming back down to 140lbs and he was shouting out in a press conference 'I want to fight Amir Khan'.
"It's a good job I wasn't there because we probably would have had a fight in the press room.
"When you know people want to call you out and want to fight you, in a way it's a good thing.
"It builds you up, people know exactly who Amir Khan is because they must do because they are calling me out.
"I've got a list of guys who want to fight me now and I'm going to leave it to my team. I've got Freddie Roach (trainer) who is looking after me, and my advisors. I've got the right team, I couldn't ask for anything more.
"I'm just ready to fight whoever. Whoever I get put in the ring with now, if I have an eight-nine week training camp alongside Freddie Roach then I know I can go in with anyone and beat them."
Khan, who began his professional career at lightweight but moved up to become WBA light-welterweight champion in the summer, has enjoyed an astonishing turnaround in fortunes since teaming up with Roach.
In September last year he suffered a first-round shock at the hands of Colombian Breidis Prescott - who fights on the undercard tonight.
But after relocating to California to join Roach's stable he has bounced back in style, defeating legendary Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera before claiming Andreas Kotelnik's WBA belt in July.
