England Academy vs South Africa
That concludes our coverage for today. Join us again for the third match of the series on Sunday at Edgbaston, 10.30am start.
Daniels run out (Shrubsole/Taylor) 0
South Africa's last pair chance a single to midwicket and Shrubsole even has time for a slight fumble before getting the ball in for wicketkeeper Taylor to complete the run out of Daniels. South Africa all out for 99 in 18.3 overs. England win by 42 runs and open unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Over 18 - South Africa 98-9 (Letsoalo 1, Daniels 0)
Letsoalo would have been run out for a duck if Brunt hadn't broken the stumps with her hands before the ball. Kapp's exit brings last woman Daniels to the middle. South Africa need 44 from 12 balls.
Kapp st Taylor b Brunt 27
Hat-trick of stumpings for Taylor and this one is the best of the lot, taking a Brunt delivery above the stumps after Kapp advanced down the track and missed.
Over 17 - South Africa 91-8 (Kapp 22, Letsoalo 0)
Knight's double strike means South Africa's run chase is tailing off, they need 51 off 18 balls but it's more a question of if they can see out the overs now.
Loubser b Knight 0
Loubser is bowled second ball, Knight getting a flight delivery to turn in past the right-hander's swing to leg.
Chetty st Taylor b Knight 6
Taylor collects her second stumping, this time off spinner Knight after Chetty dragged her foot out of the crease while missing with a slog-sweep.
Over 16 - South Africa 80-6 (Kapp 21, Chetty 4)
Chetty, who opened in the first match of the series, comes in at No 8 today and thumps her first delivery to midwicket for four. South Africa need 54 from 24 balls.
Ismail st Taylor b Shrubsole 4
Superb piece of wicketkeeping from the helmet-less Taylor, standing up to Shrubsole's 70mph seam bowling. Clean take and swiftly removed the bails.
Over 15 - South Africa 80-5 (Kapp 20, Ismail 0)
The left-handed Ismail edges the hat-trick ball through the vacant slip region for a single. South Africa need 62 from 30 balls.
Tryon b Gunn 0
Tryon is pinned lbw by an inswinger for a golden duck. Gunn is on a hat-trick...
Luus b Gunn 3
Luus is bowled by an inswinger aiming into the leg side, Gunn's 50th wicket in T20 internationals.
Over 14 - South Africa 78-3 (Kapp 19, Luus 2)
South Africa limited to five runs, all in singles including a wide, from Sciver's over. The required-rate is starting to get out of hand, South Africa have only hit one four since the end of the powerplay. South Africa need 65 from 36 balls.
Over 13 - South Africa 72-3 (Kapp 17, Luus 0)
Gunn was a bit lucky to get the breakthrough with a full toss but the rest of her over was on point. 18-year-old Sune Luus is unable to score off three pinpoint inswingers. South Africa need 70 from 42 balls.
Van Niekerk c Brunt b Gunn 34
Van Niekerk hits a full toss in the air on the leg side and Brunt, making good ground coming in from the square-leg boundary, takes a well-judged catch reaching low in front of herself.
Over 12 - South Africa 70-2 (Van Niekerk 34, Kapp 15)
Sciver into the attack for the first time. A tight over of wicket-to-wicket medium pace ends with Sciver failing to hold a tough return chance from Van Niekerk. It was smashed straight back at the bowler, who had little time to react. South Africa need 72 off 48 balls.
Over 11 - South Africa 67-2 (Van Niekerk 33, Kapp 13)
Hazell completes her four-over allocation for figures of 1-17. Her very first delivery went for four but since then she's kept things tight and picked up the wicket of Du Preez. South Africa need 75 off 54 balls.
Over 10 - South Africa 63-2 (Van Niekerk 31, Kapp 11)
Kapp takes advantage of some width outside off-stump from Knight, carving an edgy boundary down to third-man. South Africa need 79 off 60 balls.
Over 9 - South Africa 55-2 (Van Niekerk 30, Kapp 4)
England's spinners are applying the mid-innings strangle at the moment. Three singles in Hazell's over means South Africa have scored just nine runs since the end of the powerplay.
Over 8 - South Africa 52-2 (Van Niekerk 29, Kapp 2)
Heather Knight, a recent convert to spin bowling, is into the attack. She's operating from round-the-wicket at the two right-handed batters. Decent lbw shout against Kapp is turned down, may just have pitched outside leg-stump. Two singles from the over.
Over 7 - South Africa 50-2 (Van Niekerk 28, Kapp 1)
Kapp joins Van Niekerk in the middle and is off the mark with a single first ball. South Africa need 92 from 78 balls.
Du Preez c Sciver b Hazell 15
Du Preez pulls a short ball straight to Sciver a few yards in from the midwicket boundary.
Over 6 - South Africa 46-1 (Van Niekerk 25, Du Preez 15)
A double change sees seamer Jenny Gunn come into the attack for the final powerplay over. Wicketkeeper Taylor is up at the stumps. Du Preez bumps the first ball of the over into the leg side for two, all bottom hand. Each batter picks up a single before Du Preez flicks a four behind square on the leg side as Gunn drifts into the pads.
Over 5 - South Africa 38-1 (Van Niekerk 24, Du Preez 8)
England turn to spinner Danielle Hazell during the powerplay. Van Niekerk cuts Hazell's first delivery for four and almost repeats the dose later in the over, this time earning two for her efforts.
Over 4 - South Africa 32-1 (Van Niekerk 18, Du Preez 8)
Costly over from Shrubsole as Van Niekerk goes on the attack with two fours, the second of which was driven back down the ground after advancing down the pitch. Du Preez ends the over by forcing through the off side for four more.
Over 3 - South Africa 18-1 (Van Niekerk 9, Du Preez 4)
Brunt is on the comeback trail this summer after the second major back operation of her career. Van Niekerk fails to get hold of a short ball but Du Preez doesn't make the same mistake, rolling her wrists on a pull to get off the mark with a four.
Over 2 - South Africa 13-1 (Van Niekerk 8, Du Preez 0)
South Africa skipper Du Preez is in early at No 3 and fails to pierce the infield with a couple of drives. Shrubsole is starting her deliveries outside off-stump and looking for inswing.
Lee b Shrubsole 4
Lizelle Lee is bowled through the gate driving at a delivery that swung back from well outside off-stump.
Over 1 - South Africa 9-0 (Van Niekerk 8, Lee 0)
Katherine Brunt takes the first over for England and starts with a no-ball. The subsequent free-hit disappears for four, sliced to third-man by Van Niekerk. Brunt settles down thereafter, full and swinging at around 70mph. Van Niekerk, a right-hander with a compact technique, is equal to the task in defence and then adds a second boundary to end the over, eased between backward point and cover off the back foot. Classy shot.
Edwards said England were aiming for 140 after choosing to bat first and, mainly thanks to her 61-ball 75 not out, they finished on 141-3. Half the job is done and now it's over to the bowlers...
Over 20 - England 141-3 (Edwards 75, Greenway 13)
Edwards gives herself some room and drives the first ball of Ismail's final over for four, the 11th of her innings. Ismail mixes up her pace well for the rest of the over, limiting it to ones and twos.
Over 19 - England 130-3 (Edwards 70, Greenway 8)
Kapp is back on for the penultimate over. Left-hander Lydia Greenway drives square for her first four. Edwards tries a reverse sweep from the final ball but only gets a single for it.
Over 18 - England 121-3 (Edwards 67, Greenway 2)
Edwards drives too early at a slower ball from Ismail but is dropped by Tryon, moving forward from long-on. Good over from Ismail at this stage, limiting the damage to five singles.
Over 17 - England 116-3 (Edwards 64, Greenway 0)
Edwards said after the toss that England would be aiming for 140. They've got wickets in hand to throw the bat for the final three overs and should get somewhere close to that.
Sciver c Ismail b Daniels 14
Sciver goes for a big hit into the leg side but top edges it high in the air and Ismail, stationed on the backward square-leg boundary, is able to steady herself and catch the skier when it eventually comes down.
Over 16 - England 109-2 (Edwards 58, Sciver 13)
Edwards drops a single to midwicket off Tryon's bowling to complete a 45-ball half-century, that's her fourth consecutive 50+ score in international cricket. Edwards celebrates the milestone and then hits back-to-back fours to end the over, lofting a slower ball for four to backward square-leg and then driving powerfully in the air back past the bowler.
Over 15 - England 98-2 (Edwards 49, Sciver 11)
England dealing in singles - five in all - against left-arm seamer Daniels, most of them going to the fielders at deep midwicket.
Over 14 - England 93-2 (Edwards 47, Sciver 8)
Sciver gives herself some room to open up the off side against Tryon's medium pace and drives through mid-off for her first four.
Over 13 - England 86-2 (Edwards 46, Sciver 2)
South Africa have put a lid on England's scoring in the last three overs and got their reward with the wicket of Taylor, who didn't come close to clearing mid-off. Nat Sciver is off the mark with a drop-and-run single into the leg side.
Taylor c Letsoalo b Daniels 15
Taylor chips a drive to Marcia Letsoalo at mid-off.
Over 12 - England 79-1 (Edwards 45, Taylor 11)
Left-arm seamer Tryon returns to the attack and produces an excellent over, just three singles from it.
Over 11 - England 76-1 (Edwards 44, Taylor 9)
Van Niekerk's first ball is dispatched for four by Edwards but the leg-spinner responds well with four dots and a hard-run two from the remainder of the over.
Over 10 - England 70-1 (Edwards 38, Taylor 9)
Taylor gives herself some room and drives a flighted delivery from Loubser for four over extra cover Edwards copies her partner later in the over; same shot, same result.
Over 9 - England 58-1 (Edwards 32, Taylor 3)
Edwards and Taylor happy to knock Van Niekerk's leg-spin around for ones and twos at the moment. There's plenty of gaps.
Over 8 - England 52-1 (Edwards 28, Taylor 1)
Edwards and Taylor are ranked second and third respectively in the International Cricket Council's T20 batting rankings behind Australia's Meg Lanning. With the fielding restrictions now relaxed, South Africa have spin on at both ends, Sunette Loubser and Van Niekerk.
Over 7 - England 45-1 (Edwards 22, Taylor 0)
Winfield's exit brings Sarah Taylor out to the middle to join Edwards.
Winfield st Chetty b Van Niekerk
Winfield is stumped after dragging her back foot out of the crease while aiming a big swing into the leg side at a flighted delivery from leg-spinner Van Niekerk. Wicketkeeper Trisha Chetty was alert to the situation and swiftly removed the bails.
Over 6 - England 44-0 (Edwards 21, Winfield 22)
Ismail is back on, South Africa skipper Du Preez is using her seamers in one-over spells at the moment. Edwards comes down the pitch and drives back over the bowler's head for four. Good response from Ismail, getting one to duck back in and Edwards can only inside edge for a single. Winfield goes on the attack, twice finding the boundary on the leg side with meaty strikes to end an excellent power play for England.
Over 5 - England 31-0 (Edwards 16, Winfield 14)
Another left-arm seamer, Moseline Daniels, into the attack now. Edwards again takes advantage of a short ball, pulling it away for four in dismissive fashion. Winfield continues to mix the occasional play and miss with some pleasing strokeplay, ending the over by driving a full, swinging delivery straight down the ground for four.
Over 4 - England 22-0 (Edwards 11, Winfield 10)
Left-arm seamer Chloe Tryon comes into the attack. A tight over is ruined by the final delivery, which is way outside off-stump and lofted over cover for four by Winfield.
Over 3 - England 16-0 (Edwards 11, Winfield 5)
Edwards tucks into a couple of short balls from Kapp, pulling them both away to the midwicket boundary.
Over 2 - England 6-0 (Edwards 2, Winfield 4)
Shabnim Ismail, another right-arm seamer, shares the new ball. Edwards is saved from being lbw by an inside edge and is called through for a sharp single. Winfield misses with a couple of leg-side heaves but then gets off the mark in fine style, driving between the bowler and mid-on for four.
Over 1 - England 1-0 (Edwards 1, Winfield 0)
Right-arm seamer Marizanne Kapp takes the new ball for South Africa and makes a good start, beating Edwards driving outside off-stump before the England captain opens both her and her team's account with a single chopped to third-man. Edwards' opening partner Lauren Winfield is beaten outside off-stump to end the over.

England's women have never lost a T20 international to South Africa, stringing together nine victories (plus one no-result due to rain) since the first meeting in 2007. Looking back through those matches there has not been a close game among them, maybe that will change this evening?
England lead the three-match series 1-0 after a nine-wicket victory in the opening game at Chelmsford on Monday. England skipper Charlotte Edwards continued her vintage summer, hitting 62 not out to see her side to a target of 90 with 39 balls to spare.
