England vs India
ENGLAND WIN BY 266 RUNS!
The series is level at 1-1 with two matches to play! India skittled for 178 before lunch on day five. Moeen Ali with career-best figures of 6-67 and Rahane left stranded on 52* for India
Pankaj bld Ali 9
Ali wraps up the innings with his sixth wicket, clean bowling No 11 Pankaj!
Over 66 - India 170-9 (Rahane 52, Pankaj 1)
50! Rahane brings up his second half-century in the match off the final ball with a crushing boundary off Woakes through the covers. It will bring Pankaj back on strike for the next over, though, after he'd earlier got off strike with a single
Over 65 - India 165-9 (Rahane 48, Pankaj 0)
With the field in close Rahane sees this as an ideal time to score, sweeping Ali through and over square-leg for back-to-back boundaries to end the over. Pankaj on strike, though...
Over 64 - India 157-9 (Rahane 40, Pankaj 0)
Judging by Pankaj's efforts with the bat in the first-innings this could be over very quickly if the India No 11 gets on strike. Rahane protects him well, though, driving for two and then nudging a single final ball to retain strike
Shami bld Ali 0
Ali has five! Fired in, Shami played back and played inside the line and the ball clipped the top of leg stump. What a moment for Mo! England on the brink...
Over 63 - India 154-8 (Rahane 37, Shami 0)
Shami is happy to go down swinging here and almost nicks the final ball from Woakes behind after Rahane had nudged a single. Shami doesn't look like he's interested in hanging around at the moment...
Over 62 - India 152-8 (Rahane 36, Shami 0)
A double wicket-maiden from Ali, who now has 4-50 and is on the verge of a maiden Test five-for. He almost gets it when new man Shami skips down the pitch and chips high, just over mid-off. India turn down a single to keep Rahane on strike
Kumar ct Anderson bld Ali 0
Two in an over for Ali! Brilliant field change from Cook as Anderson moves into gully for the final ball and an inside edge comes off bat then pad and loops up to the England fielder. Two wickets to go...
Jadeja bld Ali 15
Ali strikes! Jadeja cannot believe a full delivery has crept through bat and pad. He played all round that low full toss. Poor shot. Big breakthrough for England
Over 60 - India 152-6 (Rahane 35, Jadeja 15)
Close! Huge lbw appeal from Woakes and fielders on Rahane after the ball had kept a little low. Umpire Tucker says no and replays back him up. Just sliding past leg stump. England will be pleased to see some uneven bounce
Over 59 - India 152-6 (Rahane 35, Jadeja 15)
Two excellent diving stops from England fielders save boundaries in Ali's latest over. First Root flings himself to his right to restrict Jadeja to a single and Broad then hauls in a boundary-bound stroke from Rahane to save a single. Runs shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but England are showing plenty of intent in all facets down on the south coast
Over 58 - India 148-6 (Rahane 32, Jadeja 14)
Woakes is bowling at decent pace here and tests Jadeja with a bouncer. He's up to the challenge though and pulls away for the only run of the over
Over 57 - India 147-6 (Rahane 32, Jadeja 13)
Jadeja works Ali wide of mid-on for a single and Rahane then ends the first hour with a delightful boundary, driven through extra cover. Time for drinks
Over 56 - India 142-6 (Rahane 28, Jadeja 12)
Woakes comes on for his first bowl today and almost makes an immediate impact when his first delivery passes perilously close to Rahane's edge after loose push away from his body from the India No 5. A more controlled defensive shot then brings four along the floor past gully and Rahane then tucks two through square-leg. Overall, a decent start from Woakes, who is wicketless in the match so far
Over 55 - India 136-6 (Rahane 22, Jadeja 12)
Jadeja remains positive, pouncing on more width from Ali and cutting behind square for four. He's strong there. Attack seems the best form of defence for India
Over 54 - India 132-6 (Rahane 22, Jadeja 8)
Anderson into his eighth and potentially last over of this superb spell. Four runs off it after Rahane dabs for a single and Jadeja then does the same and a direct hit results in two overthrows. England looking sharp and focused on levelling this series
Over 53 - India 128-6 (Rahane 21, Jadeja 5)
Despite the rather desperate situation India find themselves in, Jadeja is looking to be as positive as ever. He rocks back and cuts an Ali short ball away for a welcome boundary. The Worcestershire spinner comes back well and gets a fuller delivery to spit out of the rough and beat Jadeja, pushing forward
Over 52 - India 124-6 (Rahane 21, Jadeja 1)
No chance of getting the ball out of Anderson's hand at the moment and he produces another brilliant over to Rahane, who did well to come through it unscathed. Beaten on the outside and almost back in, Anderson shows off his full repertoire during a maiden. He is 7-2-15-2 so far this morning
Over 51 - India 124-6 (Rahane 21, Jadeja 1)
Cook brings Ali on for an early twirl. He starts well, sending down a maiden to Jadeja
Over 50 - India 124-6 (Rahane 21, Jadeja 1)
If this is Anderson's last Test of the series then he's certainly aiming to go out on a high. After pushing two deliveries across Jadeja, he then brings one back in to the left-hander and a thick inside edge almost crashes back on to the stumps. Wonderful bowling. One run added
Over 49 - India 123-6 (Rahane 21, Jadeja 0)
The first loose ball of the day comes at the start of Broad's latest over as he sends down a wide well outside off stump. Buttler does well to limit the damage to one run with a tumbling take. A Rahane single and leg-bye follow. England pressing for wicket No 7...
Over 48 - India 120-6 (Rahane 20, Jadeja 0)
Brilliant bowling from Anderson! He's got the ball on a string at the moment and Dhoni had no answer to that away-swinger. Buttler played his part behind the sumps, too. Jadeja is the new batsman and he almost edges a vicious away swinger straight away. All going on at the Bowl!
Dhoni ct Buttler bld Anderson 6
Anderson strikes again! One ball after edging through the slip cordon for four, Dhoni gets another edge and Buttler takes a fine catch diving to his right. Jimmy on fire and England are four away!
Over 47 - India 116-5 (Rahane 20, Dhoni 2)
Broad continues to steam in and hammer the pitch but concedes his first runs of the morning when Rahane gets up on his toes and pushes through point for two. With a century to his name already this series, Rahane looks the key man for India
Over 46 - India 114-5 (Rahane 18, Dhoni 2)
Dhoni pushes India's first run of the day to cover and comes back for a second when Ballance overthrows. Plenty of seam and swing on show for Anderson, who beats the India captain with a peach moving away and almost catching the edge
Over 45 - India 112-5 (Rahane 18, Dhoni 0)
Three maidens and a wicket to start the day for England. India's Great Escape is looking increasingly difficult against a fired-up home attack. They do bat deep, though, and the pitch still looks decent for batting
Over 44 - India 112-5 (Rahane 18, Dhoni 0)
Just the start England wanted and Anderson, who else?!, was the man to provide the breakthrough. India captain MS Dhoni strides to the middle and leaves his opening three deliveries well alone
Rohit ct Buttler bld Anderson 6
What a start for England! Anderson lures Rohit into a loose defensive prod and finds a faint edge through to Buttler
Over 43 - India 112-4 (Rahane 18, Rohit 6)
Broad gets straight into his work with a maiden to Rahane, who has no interest in playing at anything not troubling his stumps. Gentle away swing and plenty of carry
Here we go...
Broad to start from the Northern End
After The Oval, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Lord's, Headingley, Trent Bridge and Lord's again, England are on the verge of a welcome victory in Southampton. Conditions are set fair on the south coast and England should have a full day to take these last six Indian wickets. Rahane (18no) and Rohit (6no) are the men in the middle for the tourists
