Geraint Jones and Darren Stevens smashed Kent Spitfires to a six-wicket triumph over Essex Eagles in the Friends Provident t20.
Jones hit 54 off 34 balls and Stevens finished unbeaten on 49 from 28 as the visitors chased down a target of 168 with eight deliveries to spare at Chelmsford, which has been a Twenty20 fortress for Essex in previous years.
The fourth-wicket pair put on 69 to revive the Spitfires after they were reduced to 62-3 in the 10th over.
Jones was bowled by Graham Napier (2-40) with 37 still required but Stevens - who hit three fours and three sixes - powered his side home in the penultimate over the company of Azhar Mahmood (7no).
The match ended in a hurry when Stevens plundered 18 from five deliveries off Napier in the 19th over - the fourth of which was a no-ball that disappeared for six.
Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate had earlier dispatched seven sixes during an innings of 98 from 47 balls as Essex recovered from 24-4 to post a total of 167-9 after being asked to bat.
Ten Doeschate's contribution, something of a lone hand as Matt Walker's 21 was the next highest score, ended with him being run out in the final over.
