Twenty20 Cup - South Division
Essex 132 (J S Foster 50 no, D P Nannes 4-28) v Middlesex 133-3 (T Henderson 64 no)
Middlesex beat Essex by 7 wkts
A Dirk Nannes hat-trick inspired Middlesex Crusaders to a seven-wicket victory over Essex Eagles in the Twenty20 Cup at Chelmsford.
The left-arm seamer bowled Varun Chopra and Grant Flower before completing his hat-trick, the first by a Middlesex bowler in the competition, by trapping Ryan ten Doeschate.
Nannes' trail of destruction left Essex reeling at 20-5, and despite an unbeaten 50 from James Foster, Middlesex went on to chase down the meagre target of 132 with minimal fuss.
South African all-rounder Tyron Henderson had the Chelmsford crowd ducking for cover as he blasted 64 off 30 balls, with Billy Godleman (30) also ensuring the Crusaders went past their target with 23 balls remaining.
