Sussex Sharks maintained their excellent start in the Friends Life t20 South Group with a 17-run success against Essex Eagles at Chelmsford.
Sharks openers Luke Wright and Chris Nash put on 106 in 11.1 overs after being asked to bat.
Nash went for 44, the first of four victims for Eagles spinner Tim Phillips (4-27), but Wright batted throughout the innings, finishing with 81 not out from 51 balls - featuring seven fours and three sixes - in a total of 168-6.
And that proved enough as Essex mustered 151-7 in reply, Owais Shah's 39 the top score.
Seamers Chris Liddle (3-25) and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan (2-23) led the way with the ball for Sussex, who have won all three of their matches so far in this season's competition.
