Friends Provident Trophy - Group A
Ireland 197-5 (P R Stirling 80, K J O'Brien 67 no) v Leicestershire 201-3 (H D Ackerman 118 no)
Leicestershire beat Ireland by 7 wkts
Hylton Ackerman's unbeaten century guided Leicestershire to a seven-wicket success over Ireland in Group A of the FP Trophy.
The South African batsman hit 118 not out to see the Foxes to a target of 198 with 12 balls to spare in a match that had been reduced to 31 overs per side by the weather.
Ackerman, opening the batting, scored his runs from 87 balls - including 16 fours and a six - and shared stands worth 107 with James Taylor (48) and an undefeated 55 with Paul Nixon (15no) for the second and fourth wickets respectively.
Earlier, teenage batsman Paul Stirling and all-rounder Kevin O'Brien hit half-centuries in Ireland's total of 197-5 after Ireland had been asked to bat first at Grace Road.
Number three Stirling smashed eight fours and six during an entertaining knock of 80 off 82 deliveries, while O'Brien finished with 67 not out at exactly a run-a-ball.
The result is Leicestershire's first win in the competition from four matches, while Ireland have now lost three out of three.
