South Africa win by 69 runs
South Africa win the 3rd ODI by 69 runs. They batted well, all batsmen contributing to their total which was 259 after 50 overs. Pakistan got off to a great start but then Steyn pulled things back with the wicket of Shehzad, Tsotsobe bowled a brilliant spell creating lots of pressure and Tahir claimed 4 wickets to really out play Pakistan. South Africa lead the series 2-1.

McLaren continues, Tanvir hits it straight down the ground, over the umpire's head for four. WICKET! Tanvir goes for the duck hook, Pakistan all out for 191, and South Africa win by 68 runs.

Morkel starts his 9th over. A late appeal for caught behind, umpires not interested. Tanvir walks across his stumps, tries to hit it to fine leg but misses. Pakistan have not chased down more than 250 runs in ODIs for over two years. A single to Tanvir, Irfan will have to negotiate the last ball of the over.

Morkel brought back into the attack to break this partnership. WICKET! Morkel pitches it up and Riaz edges it to the keeper, the partnership has ended, Pakistan 8 down for 177. Ajmal comes in to bat, required rate is over 9 per over. Ajmal pulls it to deep square leg to get off the mark. A yorker and a short ball from Morkel. Tanvir swipes it over the keepers head and it runs down to third man for four, lucky runs for Pakistan.

Another full toss, Tanvir sweeps it and gets four through deep square leg. The highest 8th wicket partnership in ODIs in Abu Dhabi comes up. Tanvir reverse sweeps it for four. A misunderstanding, but Tanvir is sent back in time and is safe. Pakistan chipping along on 177 for 7.

Nine runs per over needed from here on in, Riaz muscles it over long on for a six. McLaren bowls the off cutter slower ball and Riaz hits it out of the park. The 50 run partnership comes up for Pakistan. End of the power play, Pakistan 168 for 7 after 40 overs.

Riaz attacking Steyn, drives it through cover for four, good start of the over for Pakistan. The required rate is now hovering around 9 per over. The asking rate, which was under 5 per over once upon a time is now exactly 6 per over. Steyn brought back into the attack, last 5 overs yielding just 7 runs for 2 wickets. Tahir shuffled out of the attack just after he gets a wicket. A big appeal for lbw, Steyn absolutely convinced it was out, but umpire gives it not out and South Africa don't review. Replays show it was going down leg so good decision not to review it. Clipped away for a single, Pakistan 94 for 4.

Tsotsobe continues, he was the one who started building the pressure with almost three maidens in a row. He was rewarded with the wicket of Amin, Akmal pushes it through point for a single. Shafiq takes a single to end the over, Pakistan 92 for 4 after 22 overs.

A couple of singles and then Misbah is caught on his pads in front of his stumps. It was given out and Misbah reviews it but it is too late. Umpires decide he took too long to review, replays showed it was out. WICKET! Pakistan lose their captain and Umar Akmal comes out to bat. Tsotsobe continues, a couple of dot balls and then Amin has edged one to the keeper. Celebrations started straightaway but umpire gave it not out. It has been reviewed, WICKET! there was a noise and it could not be anything else but a thick edge. Controlled pressure from Tsotsobe creates a wicket. Shafiq walks out to bat with his captain. Ryan McLaren brought into the attack to replace Tahir. Amin cuts it away to Amla at deep point for a single. Great fielding from Faf at backward point, stopping a few runs if not four. Good over so far from McLaren, keeping it simple and adding a few variations. Just a single from the over, Pakistan need 174 from 31 overs to win.

Tahir continues, a single from the second ball brings Misbah on strike. Misbah gets a boundary and then a single, more pressure on Tahir. Six from the over, Pakistan 85 for 2.

After drinks, Tsotsobe continues. A few slower balls and a few cutters to Misbah, who plays the over out, a maiden in the end.

Tahir introduced into the attack, important phase in the game. Misbah pulls it through mid wicket for four, dispatches the first ball from Tahir for four. Same shot, but this time there is a man in the deep and it will only be a single. Amin drives it through the off side for four, Tahir under pressure now. A lot of short balls from Tahir, easy for the batsmen to score from. Tahir drifts down leg and Amin sweeps it fine for four, great over for Pakistan.

Steyn continues, a gully in place with two slips. Misbah guides it between point and cover for three runs, Steyn ends another good over. Pakistan 65 for 2 after 13 overs.

Steyn has gone off the field, he was struggling with his hamstring early on. Four, Morkel beats the bat and then the ball swings away from the keeper for four, difficult for de Kock to cover that. Parnell on the field for Steyn. A wide down leg, Misbah edges it past the keeper for four, a very difficult chance for de Kock. End of a good over from Morkel.

Morkel back into the attack, a change of ends for him. A big appeal for lbw, umpire gives it not out, they think of reviewing it but decide against it. Hawk Eye shows it would have been missing leg stump. The runs have stopped for Pakistan, Hafeez struggling against Morkel. Faf claims the catch, Hafeez hits it straight to Faf. Steyn into the attack against Hafeez, replacing Morkel. He is on the mark straight away. A couple of plays and misses from Hafeez. Hafeez gets a single, working the ball on the leg side. Just a single from the over.

The required rate is just under 5 per over now and Shehzad gets down on one knee and smashes this through the off side for four, another drive from the front foot. Just pushed through the off side, Shehzad beats the man at mid off for four, good position and then good execution. Miller needs to attack one of the bowlers, Duminy can stay through the innings. Hafeez comes into the attack. Miller gets a single to long off. A couple of singles, SA searching the boundary now. Faf pulls it for four, Wahab Riaz pitching it short and Faf is confident enough to pull it through the leg side for four. Faf pushes it through the covers, beats Irfan in the deep and gets another boundary to get to his 50. Also brings up South Africa's 100. Faf drives through the covers again, Tanvir does well to stop the boundary, Faf gets three runs. A single to Duminy to get off strike, a misfield from Pakistan. Good over for SA, 12 from it.

Faf to face Wahab after drinks, gets some width and works it through the off side for a single. de Kock takes a single and then Faf swivels and works it to deep square leg for a single. de Kock pulls it through midwicket for a single. Shahid Afridi comes into the attack after drinks. A good partnership developing for South Africa. Faf comes down the track and takes a single to long off. Just a single from the over.

Wahab Riaz continues, de Kock takes a single square of the wicket on the leg side. Faf goes over the top, clears the man at mid off and gets another boundary.
