Jos Buttler smashed his second century in three games but it still wasn't enough to prevent England Lions slipping to a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka A in their third unofficial one-day international in Kurunegala.
Buttler scored 119 in 130 balls as the Lions posted 258-9 in their 50 overs after winning the toss, however Sri Lanka comfortably chased down the total and now trail the five-match series 2-1.
Yorkshire's Jonny Bairstow (31) provided Buttler with some useful support, however it was the Somerset man who took centre stage for the Lions with 11 fours and one six.
Sri Lanka slipped to 22-2 in reply, but thereafter were seldom troubled as they reached their target with 15 balls to spare, Dimuth Karunaratne top scoring with 94.
Samit Patel was the pick of the Lions bowlers with one for 49 off his 10 overs.
