Over 1 SL 7/0 (Tharanga 4, Dilshan 0)
First runs for Sri Lanka come off a wide ball. Morkel strays down leg. Dilshan opening the batting today with Tharanga. Three wides in a row for Morkel now who seems to have traded his no ball problem for a wide one. Edged to second slip and dropped by Petersen. Tharanga gets a four to end the over for Sri Lanka.
The weather is typical of the sub-continent - hot and humid, with some marginal cloud cover to balance comfort levels. The pitch, as expected by a Proteas XI sporting two frontline spinners - is going to take turn. The duo will be up against a Sri Lankan top eight featuring as many as five left-handers.
Sri Lanka XI
Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Jehan Mubarak, Thisara Perera, Rangana Herath, Shaminda Eranga, Lasith Malinga.
South Africa XI
Colin Ingram, Alviro Petersen, JP Duminy, AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Ryan McLaren, Robin Peterson, Aaron Phangiso, Chris Morris, Morne Morkel.
Sri Lanka have recalled Jehan Mubarak, who last played an ODI in 2009, and Chandimal will lead the side in the absence of the suspended Angelo Mathews. No Hashim Amla nor Lonwabo Tsotsobe for South Africa, but Morne Morkel is back.
AB de Villiers wins the toss and South Africa will bowl first. Dinesh Chandimal reckons he would have done the same, had he triumphed at the flip of the coin.
