Herath continues, and some good fielding by Mubarak. Miller plays it to long on for a single. Another very good over from Herath and it is 79 for 5, SA need 97 from 13 overs.

Amla is injured and may or may not bat today, so SA are essentially 73 for 6. Miller gets a couple, driving wide of the sweeper. Cut away square of the wicket for a single. Five from the over.

SA need 108 more to win. Miller hits it to short midwicket but Chandimal does well to stop the single. WICKET! Faf out, a slight edge and Sanga takes a good low catch. South Africa in a lot of trouble now as McLaren walks out to bat. Herath gets his 50th wicket in his 50th ODI. McLaren gets a single to end the over, SA 71 for 5 after 14.

A shout for lbw against AB, and after a long chat they go upstairs as the on field umpire gives it not out. WICKET! Good call from Dilshan to review it, AB has to go, South Africa lose their 4th. Miller comes out to bat, another promising batsman for South Africa. A single to Miller to the sweeper, Dilshan bowling well. Just a single and the wicket from the over.

Faf drives through the covers for four from the last ball, three quick singles to go with it, making it 7 from the over.

Dilshan comes into the attack so spinners from both ends. A couple of quick singles, and then another one. Four singles from the over, SA 60 for 3.
Over 10 SA 56/3 (du Plessis 1, de Villiers 8)
SA going along nicely, and to change that, Herath comes in to the attack. AB gets a single straight down the ground. A wide down leg from Herath. WICKET! Herath traps Alviro in front of the stumps and that is out. No doubt about that, it is reviewed by Alviro, he will only be saved if there was an edge on this. He is out, third umpire keeps it to the on field umpire's call and it is out. Faf du Plessis comes out to bat. A quick single, there will be some quick running here.

AB inside edges it for a couple, good running between the wickets. Another inside edge from AB, just goes to Sanga. The seam is angled into the batsmen so it is coming in. AB plays a good shot through the covers for a single. Alviro watches it on to his pads and just flicks it for four through midwicket, well controlled, classy shot.

Chandimal continues with Eranga, looking for a wicket. A much better over from Eranga, keeping it in the right channel at the right length. A wide, slightly too outside off. Just the wide in the over, SA 46 for 2 after 8.
Over 7 SA 45/2 (Petersen 20, de Villiers 4)
WICKET! Perera was probing around that off stump area and now gets Duminy's outside edge. Sanga takes a good catch behind wickets, Perera gets a wicket. The captain walks out into the middle, SA need a knock from him today. A shout for lbw, but AB is safe, it was too high. A single to Petersen from an inside edge. AB plays it late and he angles the ball to the boundary.

Eranga continues, and is bowling much fuller than the previous over. Duminy frees his arms and drives it through the covers for four, Eranga gives him some width and he punishes it. Another great shot, this time from Alviro and is rewarded with a boundary. Eranga proving to be a bit expensive, 9 runs from the over.

Perera into the attack, Malinga's short spell of two overs ends. Duminy blocks a few from Perera, this will be a difficult pitch to bat on. Three runs from the last ball to end the over, South Africa need 146 to win.

The required rate is exactly 6 per over. A wide down leg from Eranga. Alviro stands tall and hits it square of the wicket for four, commanding shot. Eranga is slipping in his delivery stride and some saw dust is coming into play. A leading edge and the lucky Alviro Petersen gets a few runs.
Over 3 SA 20/1 (Petersen 9, Duminy 7)
Malinga starts his second over and Duminy drives him square of the wicket for three runs, the ball not reaching the ropes because of a slow outfield. Alviro takes a single, and Duminy gets another yorker from Malinga. A wide down leg from Malinga. Mubarak makes a good stop on the wet outfield to deny them the single. Duminy pulls the short ball from Malinga, keeps it down and along the ground to get a four.

JP Duminy comes out to bat. Eranga to bowl the second over, the asking rate is around 6 per over. Alviro plays a few dots and then cuts a lose ball from Eranga for four square of the wicket, good shot. Appeal for lbw but the height may have been a factor, SA 11 for 1 after 2 overs.

Malinga starts with the ball and Alviro and Robin come out to bat. A couple of runs from the first ball, the fielder slipping on a wet outfield. It is a slow outfield so the ball does not run away for four, the batsmen get 3. Dropped, Alviro is dropped by second slip, a real bonus for South Africa. WICKET! Malinga gets one through Robin Peterson, a very exciting first over. Robin Peterson is bowled by a Malinga yorker.

Eranga goes for the pull and top edges it to fine leg who takes it on the bounce. McLaren to bowl the last over, not Morris. WICKET! Herath goes for the second, and Morkel's flat throw made sure that de Villiers completed an easy stumping. Malinga comes out with a bat in hand. It is drizzling again, but the umpires trying to get 50 overs in. A bouncer, and a wide down leg side that runs down to fine leg for a couple of runs. The players are going off, covers coming on and it is raining.

Morkel to bowl his last over for the day. Herath pulls it to deep square leg again for a single. Eranga backs away a just pushes it on the off side, somewhere between a cut and a swipe for couple of runs. Just four from the over, one over to go SL are 218 for 8.

Three overs to go, Herath starts the over with a lofted drive straight down the ground for four, McLaren did not expect that. Herath pulls and wants two, but kept down to one. Eranga swings his bat and gets it to deep square leg, it almost runs to the boundary but Phangiso does well to save a run. SL 214 for 8.

Morkel is back, bowling to Herath. Herath scampers for a single, bringing Chandimal on strike. A couple of runs on the leg side, good fielding from Duminy and good back up from Faf. WICKET! Faf takes a great catch at point, Chandimal departs, it was hit hard to point and Faf takes a brilliant catch. Chandimal falls for 43, Eranga is the new man in.

McLaren starts his 8th over, Morkel has a quick chat to him. A wide outside off from McLaren, poor delivery at this point. Amla has gone for a scan and awaiting news on that. The ball slips out of McLaren's hand and almost hits Chandimal, called a no ball as it was a high full toss. Sri Lanka get to 200, 4 overs remaining it is 202 for 7.

WICKET! Ingram on the field for Amla takes an easy catch to get rid of Perera at extra cover. Morris celebrates, Perera goes for 11, Herath walks out to bat. Four runs from the over, 5 overs remaining.
Over 44 SL 191/6 (Perera 11, Chandimal 39)
Rain has stopped, and there is a chance of a run out, Faf is the fielder, but replays show that AB did not collect it properly. A couple of runs to Perera, Phangiso bowling his last over. Perera gets it fine on the leg side and for four to fine leg. Dropped, Perera gets a top edge on it, it goes really high in the air and Peterson on the boundary can't hold on to it, this could be costly.
Over 43 SL 181/6 (Perera 3, Chandimal 37)
Amla looks in pain, he is battling to get up. de Villiers is summoning the medical staff, Amla is injured as his knee hits the ground hard as he tries to stop this ball. It is a boundary, but South Africa will hope that is the only damage. Another boundary for Chandimal, edges it to third man again for four. A couple of runs and good running between the wickets, accumulating useful runs here Chandimal. At the end of the 43rd over, it starts raining!

Amla does well on the fine leg boundary to keep it down to two, Phangiso finishes another good over, 5 dots and a couple of runs from it.
Over 41 SL 168/6 (Perera 1, Chandimal 26)
Duminy starts his 3rd over and it is a WICKET! Duminy takes the pace of the ball and Mubarak is early into the shot and hits it straight to Duminy who takes an easy catch. Sri Lanka losing wickets at regular intervals as Perera comes out to bat. Dropped, just a slight edge and de Villiers behind the stumps can't hold on to it. May have been just a faint edge. After 41 overs, SL 168 for 6.
Over 40 SL 167/5 (Mubarak 8, Chandimal 26)
Morkel gives a short one to Chandimal, hits his ribs. Short and wide by Morkel and Chandimal misses, turning out to be a good over by Morkel. Just a single from it in the end. End of the power play which brought 24 runs and a wicket with it.
Over 39 SL 166/5 (Mubarak 7, Chandimal 26)
Morkel does well to keep it down to two, diving down to his right, then the next ball he dives to his left to save another two on the boundary. A wide down leg, Mubarak times one sweetly through the covers for four, great cover drive. Mubarak plays it on the leg side for a single. A good over for Sri Lanka, Morris conceding 11 runs.

Morkel starts off with a wide down leg. So the power play started with McLaren, then it was Phangiso and now it is Morkel. The plan seems to be to give everyone an over in the power play. Chandimal plays it wide of the slip for a deliberate edge for four to third man. A good over in the power play for Sri Lanka, seven from it.

Phangiso comes in to bowl, with the flood lights. Chandimal comes down the ground and hits it in the air McLaren makes good ground and puts in the dive but can't catch it. Four runs from the over, Sri Lanka 148 for 5.

Batting power play taken and McLaren hits Thirimanne pads. The umpire gives it out, Thirimanne goes for the review. WICKET! The third umpire gives Thirimanne out, no inside edge on that ball. Jehan Mubarak and gets a good ball to start with. A wide down leg. Just the wide from the over, and the important wicket. Good start to the power play.

Peterson continues and an inside edge produces a single to square leg. Chandimal drives down the ground for another single. A couple of runs and then a single, making it six runs from the over in total. SA should put more pressure on with two new batsmen at the crease.

WICKET! Big wicket for South Africa at a crucial stage in the game. Morkel's bounce and pace inducing the drive, and AB de Villiers takes a great catch as Dilshan edges it. Dilshan gone for a well constructed 43, as the Sri Lankan captain comes out to bat. Chandimal needs some runs under his belt. A couple of runs taken, a tight second one but the throw misses the stumps. Thirimanne's dive would have saved him even with the direct hit.

Peterson continues, starting his 8th over. Dilshan pinches a single to cover, after Thirimanne edges and gets a single. Another single, just dropping into the gaps and keeping the score ticking. Four from the over, SL ticking along nicely.

Thirimanne takes his time to complete the run, the throw is at that end and it is a direct hit. The umpire refers it to the third umpire and Thirimanne is safe. A bit of magic spray comes out, Thirimanne getting some of it on his ribs. A shout for lbw, umpire gives it not out and they don't go for the review. It was hitting in line, coming into the batsman but was high, good decision. Three runs from the over, 114 for 3 after 28.

Peterson gets Mahela's wicket. WICKET! Mahela tries to reverse sweep it, looks awkward in the end as the ball goes between his legs and hits the stumps. Mahela is bowled and Thrimanne walks out in the middle. Thirimanne drives to deep point for a single. Dilshan pulls Peterson off the back foot to work it into mid wicket for three runs. After 27 overs, Sri Lanka are 111 for 3.
Over 26 SL 105/2 (Jayawardene 17, Dilshan 34)
The ground staff are ready as a dark cloud covers the ground. A shout for caught behind but the umpired is not interested, no reaction from Mahela. The South Africans thought it was out but did not go for the review.

The 100 for Sri Lanka comes up in the 25th over, Mahela and Dilshan doing a good job for SL here. They are taking the singles, rotating the strike and getting the odd boundary. Mahela ends the over with a single. 25 overs gone, Sri Lanka are 103 for 2.

It goes through the point fielder as Dilshan drives it, Amla does well on the boundary to keep it to three runs. Mahela takes a single down the ground. A wide down leg from Phangiso. Dilshan takes a single square of the wicket, and then Mahela hits it past point for a boundary, good over for SL.
Over 23 SL 89/2 (Jayawardene 9, Dilshan 27)
A bit of pressure building on the batsmen, Mahela chips it over mid off for a single. Peterson is bowling well here, this pair is experienced and will be patient under pressure. Dilshan guides the ball through the leg side for three runs, deep midwicket cuts it off at the boundary. Good over for Sri Lanka in the end.

Phangiso starts his 6th and Dilshan gets an outside edge to short third man, and takes a quick single. The ball is stopping on the batsmen, not easy to bat on. Mahela misses a sweep and then gets a single to the sweeper. Another good over from Phangiso, just three from it.

A couple of singles from the first two balls. Mahela hits it in the air but there is no one at mid on to take the catch, a single in the end. Mahela drives through the covers for another single. After 21 overs, Sri Lanka 81 for 2.

Mahela tries to reverser sweep, Amla at slip does well to stop it, no chance of a catch. Four, wide down the leg side and it runs away for four releasing the pressure. A good over from Phangiso.

Phangiso continues after the drinks break from the other end. WICKET! Sanga goes, the ball stops on him and he still goes through with the shot and drives it straight to Alviro, easy catch and a soft dismissal. Phangiso gets a big wicket, and Mahela comes out to bat. Mahela gets off the mark with a single. A successful over for South Africa.

Duminy starts his first over of the day after drinks, Sanga late cuts it for four, waited for it and the picked his spot. A couple of singles to end the over, seven from it.

A swing and a miss from Dilshan, this pitch looks slower than the one in the last match. Just a couple of runs from the over and it will be drinks.

Sanga walks out of his crease, down the wicket and covers the spin to hit it over midwicket for four. Sanga takes a single, driving the ball through mid on. A single to Dilshan and then Sanga takes a single on the off side, making it seven runs from the over.

Dilshan is looking settled at the crease now, he started tentatively and is working his way into form. McLaren pitches it up and then bowls a bouncer to Sanga. It was down leg, and shouts of caught behind, keeper and bowler interested, but umpire says not out. Replays show it hit the thigh pad. Just two from the over, after 14, SL 49 for 1.

Phangiso continues, in a different pitch and setting than he is used to. Dilshan gets a boundary from the first ball, uses the pace of the ball to guide it to the third man boundary. Five runs from the over.
Over 12 SL 42/1 (Sangakkara 24, Dilshan 8)
McLaren continues and Sanga works him away for a single Dilshan is playing an anchor role today, quiet and composed, very unlike his natural game. A couple of singles from the over, the run rate hovering around 3.5 per over.
Over 11 SL 40/1 (Sangakkara 23, Dilshan 7)
Phangiso introduced into the attack, Dilshan mishits him to extra cover for no run. Sanga works Phangiso for a single on the leg side. After 11 overs, SL 40 for 1, just a couple of runs from Phangiso's first over.

McLaren continues to Dilshan, much better line to the right handed Dilshan. A quick single, a drop and run from Dilshan to rotate strike. Just a single and after the first power play, SL are 38 for 1.

The ground staff has done a great job today, lots of rain yesterday and today, but the pitch and outfield look great. Sanga edges, but there is no second slip and it runs away to the third man boundary. Four runs from the over, SL 37 for 1 after 9.

Sanga carrying on where he left off in the last match, just rocks back and pulls McLaren for a boundary to deep square leg. McLaren replaces Morkel. McLaren comes back with a few good ones after the boundary. A wide down the leg side. Another one down leg and Sanga gets a single to fine leg.
Over 7 SL 27/1 (Sangakkara 14, Dilshan 5)
Morkel does well on the boundary to keep it down to two runs as Sanga drives it off the front foot. Duminy dives to stop a certain boundary, Sanga drives again, this time through the covers.
Over 6 SL 23/1 (Sangakkara 11, Dilshan 4)
It was in the air, but away from Miller, who puts in a great effort but it bounces just short of him and Dilshan pinches a single. Another wide called, a bit harsh on the bowler, Morkel unhappy as this ball swings away from the off stump. Another wide. Morkel bowls a straighter line and Sanga hits it through the leg side for four, Morkel's correction punished by the batsman. Peterson does well on the fine leg boundary to stop two runs, Sanga flicks it off his pads for a couple.

Chris Morris comes into the attack, the bowls a wide outside off, just like Morkel. There is movement in this pitch, Morris pitching in good areas to extract it. Sanga flicks it off the pads for four, Morris drifting down leg and Sanga punishes him. After 5 overs, Sri Lanka 14 for 1.
Over 4 SL 9/1 (Sangakkara 1, Dilshan 3)
Morne over the wicket now, going across Tharanga. WICKET! Morkel gets the first wicket, Tharanga goes for the pull and Peterson takes a good running catch just inside the circle. The ball was going away from Tharanga, making it difficult to pull, Sangakkara is the new man in. Dilshan pushes it to square leg for a single.
Over 3 SL 7/0 (Tharanga 3, Dilshan 2)
Shouts of catch it, but short midwicket did not have a chance to catch that. Tharanga gets a single and Dilshan will face the rest of the over. Peterson is making the batsmen drive, which is a good idea on this pitch. It will make them play and poke at the ball, creating an edge. Dilshan rocks back and hits it into the leg side for a couple of runs to get off the mark.

Morne Morkel with the new ball from the other end. Rain is predicted later, so not sure if Sri Lanka have made the right choice to bat first. Lots of lateral movement for Morkel too, making a couple of balls wide on the off side. Tharanga takes a single from the 5th ball. Two runs from the bat and two wides. SL 4 for no loss after 2 overs.

Surprisingly, South Africa will start with Peterson. After blocking a few, Tharanga takes a single down to mid on. Just one from the Peterson over.
Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bat first. Sri Lanka remain unchanged, South Africa bring in Amla to replace Ingram. Amla had a neck sprain and did not play the last game.
The flipping of the coin has been delayed due to earlier rain, and the staff are working to dry the field. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. But, alas, there is rain on the cards for later in the game.
