Sussex and Warwickshire were forced to settle for a draw after only 20 deliveries were possible due to bad weather on day four of their LV= County Championship Division One fixture at Hove.
A share of the spoils always looked the most likely outcome with Sussex starting the day on 416-7 in reply to the defending champions' 453 all out and persistent rain confirmed the outcome, Sussex on 421-7 at the close.
Both teams leave the fixture with eight points, preserving their unbeaten start to the season in the process.
The wet weather meant Ben Brown could not add to his overnight score of 82 with James Anyon adding the five runs scored on a truncated day.
Umpires George Sharp and Neil Mallender decided that play could get under way again at 2pm but when the rain returned they abandoned proceedings 30 minutes later.
Brown's third half-century in four innings contained seven fours and came off 149 balls but a desperately slow pitch and some accurate bowling inhibited both teams' efforts to force victory.
