South Africa batsman Boeta Dippenaar is in line to make his debut for Leicestershire in their LV County Championship clash against Warwickshire.
Dippenaar is included in a 12-man squad to travel to Edgbaston after fulfilling his domestic commitments with the Eagles franchise who he led to the SuperSport series title.
He comes into the squad to replace young batsman James Taylor, who is back at Shrewsbury School to prepare for his A-levels.
"Boeta is a talented and experienced international cricketer," Leicestershire coach Tim Boon confirmed.
"He has recently captained Eagles to success in a four-day competition in South Africa and has a keen desire to do well in English cricket.
Du Preez may feature
"His experience will be a big asset to the club, both at senior level and passing on knowledge to the younger age groups."
All-rounder Dillon du Preez, who also plays for the Eagles, could be handed his debut and Boon admitted the Foxes are looking to build on their recently drawn match with Worcestershire.
"Like Boeta, Dillon will be a big asset to the club. He is a bowling all-rounder who is keen to do well in all English competitions," Boon added.
"It will only be halfway through the season that we will be able to look at the structure of the league and how things are taking shape. All of our games are going to be competitive."
James Anyon has been recalled to the Warwickshire squad as they prepare to face the early league pace-setters at Edgbaston.
The seamer missed out on his county's dramatic two-wicket victory over Northamptonshire last week, but may feature in a strong line-up led by former Foxes favourite Darren Maddy, who scored 130 in his side's successful run chase.
Anyon will be fighting for a place alongside Neil Carter or Lee Daggett for the third seamer's spot, although he may also be preferred to leg-spinner Ian Salisbury if conditions dictate.
Salisbury impressed more with bat than ball last week, when he hit the penultimate ball of the match for six in an unbeaten innings of 54 to give his new county their first championship win of the season.
