Jonathan Clare's 35 not out saw Derbyshire to a two-wicket victory over Yorkshire in the Friends Life t20 at Headingley.
Chasing a target of 120, Derbyshire were reduced to 92-8 off 17 overs with Yorkshire seamer Jack Brooks claiming 4-21.
But Clare and ninth-wicket partner Tim Groenewald (11no) produced an unbroken 28-run stand in 18 deliveries to see the visitors home with three balls to spare.
Left-arm seamer Mark Footitt had earlier taken 3-22 as Yorkshire struggled to 119-8 after being invited to bat.
Derbyshire's South African T20 specialist Albie Morkel (2-9) struck in each of his first two overs with the new ball.
Footitt ripped out the middle order, including Jonny Bairstow (12), who had been released by England in order to play, and top scorer Gary Ballance (44) before Yorkshire concentrated on at least seeing out their 20 overs.
