NatWest Pro40 - Division Two
Yorkshire Phoenix 230-6 (J A Rudolph 84, A McGrath 73) v Glamorgan Dragons 135-7
Yorkshire beat Glamorgan by 49 runs (D/L Method)
Yorkshire Phoenix moved into second place in NatWest Pro40 Division Two with a 49-run win over Glamorgan Dragons on the Duckworth-Lewis calculation at Scarborough.
Jacques Rudolph and Anthony McGrath both registered half-centuries as the Phoenix piled up 230-6 after opting to bat first.
The third-wicket pair's 164-run stand repaired the innings after the early dismissals of Andrew Gale (7) and Naved-ul-Hasan (24) had left the hosts reeling at 37-2.
The partnership was just 12 runs short of Yorkshire's record for the third wicket in the competition, Richard Blakey and Sachin Tendulkar having put on 176 against Lancashire at Headingley in 1992.
Rudolph struck 11 fours and a six during his 84 off 93 balls, while McGrath's contribution was 73 off 96 balls, featuring four fours and three sixes.
Chasing a target of 231, Glamorgan were struggling at 135-7 in the 30th over when a combination of rain and deteriorating light made conditions too poor to continue.
Umpires Jeff Evans and Tim Robinson took the players from the field immediately after former Yorkshire player Alex Wharf (9) had been dismissed by Darren Gough.
Although the rain stopped, bad light made it impossible to complete the match and the Duckworth-Lewis calculation confirmed Yorkshire as winners by 49 runs.
Robert Croft (25) had got Glamorgan's reply off to a positive start, the veteran off-spinner shared an opening stand of 35 inside eight overs with David Hemp before driving Naved to Gough at mid-on.
As the weather started to close in, the visitors were ahead of the required-rate until Mike Powell (6) steered Naved (2-26) to Richard Pyrah at backward point and the accurate Deon Kruis (1-26) bowled Tom Maynard (2).
Glamorgan slumped to 71-4 when Gough (2-20) bowled Jamie Dalrymple for an eight-ball duck, and rain was already starting to fall when Pyrah (2-31) followed up with the dismissal of Hemp (38).
