All of Zimbabwe's top order contributed to their pursuit of a target of 253, opener Vusi Sibanda launching the run chase with 49.
Skipper Brendan Taylor scored 37 before fifth-wicket pair Williams and Malcolm Waller (39no) finished off the job with an unbroken stand of 86.
Williams, recalled for this series after an absence from Zimbabwe's limited-overs team of more than two years, struck six fours and a six during his 75-ball effort, which was his 12th ODI half-century.
Earlier, seam bowler Elton Chigumbura claimed 3-39 as Bangladesh made 252-9 after being asked to bat.
The tourists were in trouble at 185-7 before number nine Abdur Razzak smashed five sixes in a 22-ball 53 not out, his maiden half-century in international cricket.
The three-match series level at 1-1 ahead of Wednesday's decider, also at Bulawayo's Queens Sports Club. Bangladesh won the opener by 121 runs.
