England win gold in men's and women's 4x100m relays

England have won gold in the men's and women's 4x100m relays at the Commonwealth Games.

The men's squad of Reuben Arthur, Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey won in 38.13 seconds at the Carrara Stadium on Saturday.

They won ahead of South Africa and Jamaica with victory a reward for Hughes, who collected a gold medal after being disqualified from the 200m final having won the race.

In the women's race, long jumper Lorraine Ugen resisted the charge of Jamaica's double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson on the anchor leg to take gold.

Elsewhere on the track, England's Laura Weightman collected bronze in the women's 5,000m, Scotland's Jake Wightman took bronze in the men's 1,500m and Morgan Lake won silver in the high jump.

England's David Luckman added his second shooting title as Wales' Michael Wixey claimed men's trap gold.

In the road race, Wales' Jon Mould won silver while Dani Rowe took bronze.
