The Magic established an 18-point lead in the second quarter but the Bulls battled back and were 91-89 up with 2:56 left on the clock, only for the visitors to reply with an 8-1 run to clinch the spoils. Dwight Howard scored 29 points and had 18 rebounds for the hosts, while Carlos Boozer led Chicago with 26 points. Also on Thursday night, the Dallas Mavericks suffered their fifth straight road loss - 96-94 against the Phoenix Suns. A 34-23 third quarter proved crucial for the Suns, who clinched their first triumph over the Mavericks in nine attempts. Jared Dudley led Phoenix with 18 points - a haul matched in a losing cause by Dallas duo Dirk Nowitzki and Vince Carter.
