Spurs lose fourth straight game to Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Thunder booked a place in the NBA Finals after completing victory in the Eastern Conference with a 107-99 win over the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder lost the first two games of the play-off series before turning the tables completely with four wins on the bounce. San Antonio had held a 15-point half-time lead at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday only to crumble in the latter stages of the contest. Kevin Durant was the Thunder's star performer with 34 points and 14 rebounds, while Russell Westbrook also contributed 25 points. "This is the toughest game I've played since I've been here," Durant said after the contest. "But we kept playing hard. I tried to inspire my team mates with my play on both ends of the floor, and I'm glad we got this victory for Oklahoma City." Tony Parker was in brilliant form for the Spurs in the opening stages but his influence waned and only eight of his 29 points came in the second half. Tim Duncan, with 14 rebounds and 25 points, also put in a strong performance that was ultimately in vain. Oklahoma now will face the winner of the Eastern Conference play-offs for the NBA title, with the Boston Celtics currently leading the Miami Heat 3-2.
