England fell behind to an early penalty corner before two set-piece goals of their own had Bobby Crutchley's men 2-1 ahead at the break.
But Holland star Jeroen Hertzberger scored twice in the second half to complete his hat-trick and secure his side the bronze medal.
The game was only nine minutes old when Holland were handed a penalty corner and Hertzberger was on hand to convert.
England regrouped well and when they were handed a set-piece of their own six minutes later, Iain Lewers was able to produce a deft flick into the top-right corner of the goal.
A Dutch foot in the circle handed England another penalty corner a minute from half-time and this time it was Richard Smith who was able to finish with a low strike.
It took Holland just four minutes to equalise after the break with Hertzberger scoring his second from another penalty corner.
And just three minutes later he had his hat-trick, this time from open play, as the Holland closed out the win to claim bronze.
