Beleskey, who plays for Anaheim Ducks but came over for a stint with the Blaze due to the NHL lockout, scored twice as the home side came from behind to earn victory at the SkyDome.
The Blaze led early on through Ross Venus but then fell 3-1 behind inside 10 minutes as Tylor Michel, Lee Esders and Jeff Legue all found the net for the Steelers.
Brad Leeb cut the Blaze's deficit to 3-2 before the end of the opening period and they moved ahead in the second - despite being out-shot 14-7 - thanks to goals from Dustin Cameron and Beleskey.
Things got worse for the Steelers when coach Ryan Finnerty was ejected from the game by referee Dean Smith at the end of the second period for abuse.
Belesky sealed the victory and brought the curtain down on his Coventry career by firing into an empty net with 53 seconds remaining.
