The Superstars, who will fight for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania on April 7, partook in a Legends Q&A in Philadelphia, answering questions posed by WWE luminaries Mick Foley, Booker T, Dusty Rhodes and Bret Hart.
But tempers soon flared between The Great One and the Cenation Leader, leading to The Rock flattening his foe with a Rock Bottom and, perhaps, gaining a significant psychological advantage ahead of the mouth-watering showdown in New Jersey.
Mark Henry and Ryback will also go to war at WrestleMania and both showed their super-human strength inside the Wells Fargo Center by prevailing in handicap matches against established units.
The World's Strongest Man downed the Usos, but was outdone by Ryback, who dispensed with all three members of 3MB, hitting Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal with a double Shell Shocked for the win.
Chris Jericho, meanwhile, will face dance-loving newcomer Fandango at the Showcase of the Immortals - but he wasn't prepared to wait until he reached MetLife Stadium to get physical.
The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla gained a modicum of revenge for the ballroom expert's attack on Smackdown by dishing out a beating of his own on Raw, prior to knocking off Dolph Ziggler.
But after Ziggler's muscle-laden pal Big E Langston floored Jericho after the contest had climaxed, Fandango, who has yet to compete in a sanctioned bout, reappeared and hit Y2J with a leg drop.
Plus, The Shield, who will battle Big Show, Sheamus and Randy Orton at WrestleMania, gave another example of their skills by conquering The Great Khali, Justin Gabriel and Zack Ryder, and Team Rhodes Scholars beat Brodus Clay and Tensai.
Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett lost to The Miz, thanks in part to his opponent's in-ring acumen, but also to a pre-match low blow from Triple H; while Team Hell No defeated The Prime Time Players.
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, however, lost to United States Champion Antonio Cesaro via count-out following a distraction from Jack Swagger, but AJ Lee bested Kaitlyn after the Divas Titlist careered into the barricade and failed to make the 10-count.
And The Undertaker finally got his hands on CM Punk but was unable to retrieve his former manager Paul Bearer's urn when the Second City Saint and Paul Heyman scarpered backstage.
