Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam, R-Truth, Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston, Justin Gabriel, The Usos, and The Prime Time Players defeated U.S. and WWE Tag Team Champions the Shield on Monday night in a show of power.
In response to the locker room's huge show of support for Daniel Bryan, WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H used Monday Night Raw to show that he still holds the cards.
Holding an open meeting, Triple H announced a match between The Prime Time Players and The Wyatt Family; a WWE App vote pitted RVD against Randy Orton; a match between Kingston and World Champion Alberto Del Rio; and, as the main event, the aforementioned 11-3 Handicap Elimination Match.
The Wyatt Family scored one for Bryan, easily dispatching with the Prime Time Players. Next up was RVD and Randy Orton, who, clearly still furious with his "loss" to Daniel Bryan, decided to use the match as an opportunity to simply beat up RVD.
The match ended, but not before The Viper used a top rope hanging DDT to knock the Monday Night Man unconscious.
Despite Kofi's early success, including a leaping somersault-clothesline combo that left "Mexico's Greatest Export" laid out ringside, the Essence of Excellence prevailed by repeatedly targeting the Ghanaian's arm and ultimately locking in a Cross Armbreaker to which The Boom Squad General tapped out.
Elsewhere, Stephanie McMahon had to interrupt "Miz TV" after The Miz tried to incite his guest, The Big Show into rebellion.
McMahon struck a low blow by running down the talent of WWE's resident "utility player," and then by forcing Big Show to KO Punch his former tag team partner for his insubordination.
In other matches, Fandango defeated Santino Marella despite the Italian Stallion nearly executing his patented Cobra moved. In Divas action, Natalya, The Bella Twins, and The Funkadactyls defeated Divas Champion AJ Lee, Alicia Fox, Aksana, Layla, and Tamina.
Finally, Daniel Bryan addressed the WWE Universe to remind them of his upcoming rematch with Randy Orton at Battleground before The Shield's entrance music cut him off, leading to Bryan's victory in the 11-3 Handicap Elimination Match.
