Having previously forced Dean Ambrose into a battle royal where he lost his United States championship to Sheamus, Evolution forced The Shield into a main-event brawl with The Wyatts. Evolution then interfered ensuring a Wyatt win before demolishing The Shield after the bell had rung.
The WWE's two craziest teams are no strangers to each other and got stuck into a six-man tag-team encounter to close the show.
Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista made their presence known at ringside in search of vengeance after losing to The Shield at Extreme Rules 24 hours earlier. They gave Bray Wyatt the chance to land Sister Abigail and win the match, but a terrible evening was still not over for The Shield.
An RKO, Pedigree and powerbombs were delivered by Evolution to their vulnerable enemies - leaving no doubt who is boss on Raw.
The night began with a 20-man battle royal with Ambrose's title on the line.
Highlights included Cody Rhodes accidentally eliminating his brother Goldust, before Ambrose valiantly battled to the end and found Jack Swagger, Ryback and Curtis Axel remaining.
He eliminated that trio but Sheamus, the Celtic Warrior, was waiting. He sent Ambrose over the top rope and claimed the US title.
Daniel Bryan was contractually obliged to face Alberto Del Rio, despite the ongoing threat of Kane attacking him.
Bryan, who defeated Kane at Extreme Rules the previous night, was able to overcome Del Rio but was still sent scrambling from the ring when The Big Red Monster's fire erupted.
Bryan and his wife Brie Bella ran backstage to a getaway vehicle - but Kane was found on the backseat.
Party boy Adam Rose danced down to the ring, making short work of Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter before providing Raw's feel-good moment.
Elsewhere, Bad News Barrett defended the Intercontinental title in a rematch with Big E. Cesaro got himself disqualified against Rob Van Dam, and Rusev submitted Kofi Kingston.
Goldust, who was earlier eliminated from the battle royal by his brother Cody Rhodes, accidentally returned the favour and cost him victory against Ryback.
And 3MB crashed Los Matadores' Cinco de Mayo celebration.
