Great Britain's men's gymnastics team have qualified for the Rio Olympics next year.

The team secured Olympic qualification after confirming their place in the World Gymnastics Championships team final in Glasgow.

The top eight nations guaranteed their places in Rio and Britain's score of 354.417 on Sunday proved enough, with those competing on Monday falling short.

The achievements of the men's team comes on the back of the women's team securing their Rio spot with a third-place finish in Glasgow - Britain's best-ever result in qualifying for an Olympics.

The Great Britain men's team consists of Max Whitlock, Dan Purvis, Louis Smith, Nile Wilson, Kristian Thomas and Brinn Bevan and they will now focus on individual events in Glasgow after savouring team glory.

"Qualifying is almost the most difficult as lots of things are going through your head," Purvis told british-gymnastics.org.

"But when it comes to the final you can just go for it, so hopefully we can improve even more."
