Marc Marquez was fastest during the second free practice session at the modified Indianapolis track ahead of this weekend’s MotoGP race.
A number of the corners at the famous ‘Brickyard’ have been modified but that did not seem to affect the world champion who was a fifth of a second quicker than Pramac Ducati rider Andrea Iannone.
Jorge Lorenzo, who committed his future to Yamaha earlier this week, was third fastest ahead Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa.
Lorenzo’s Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi was ninth during the session despite clocking the fastest time during the first free practice session in the morning.
Sunday’s race at Indianapolis is expected to be an emotional one for NGM Forward Racing team rider Colin Edwards as the 40-year-old veteran races in MotoGP on home soil for the last time.
