Bongiwe Msomi has become the 11th addition to an all-star Wasps Netball squad ahead of their debut Vitality Superleague campaign.
The South Africa international is well known to Wasps director of Netball Tamsin Greenway having played for Surrey Storm last season and the 28-year-old will offer the Wasps squad options at centre and wind defence.
Wasps are one of three new franchises set to compete in the 2017 season and having already announced nine of their 12-player roster they added number ten earlier this week in the shape of shooter Rachel Dunn, who topped the goalscoring charts last season and Msomi becomes number 11,
Msomi has previously played for KZN Kingdom Stars in South Africa and played a pivotal role for her country at the 2015 Netball World Cup in Australia as well as at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2011 World Netball Series.
Greenway is pleased with the qualities that the South-African mid-courter will offer as she finalises the squad that will begin preparations for the new season imminently.
"I first saw Bongi back at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow," said Greenway.
"She is such an incredible athlete, fantastic leader and quality player, which is why I was so keen to bring her back over and play at Wasps.
"She adds another dimension to the mid court and I know she'll fit right into our Wasps environment."
Msomi joins Dunn, Natalie Haythornthwaite, Samantha May. Hannah Reid, Francesca Williams, Amy Flanagan, Josie Huckle, Sophia Candappa, George Fisher and Lucy Harris on a powerful looking line-up.
