Surrey Storm are top of the Vitality Netball Superleague after two weeks of the new season after beating Manchester Thunder 58-48 on Saturday.
Storm took control during the final quarter of the stand-out fixture of the Superleague's Super Ten Weekend, both team's having contested last year's Grand Final.
They now have maximum points from two matches, alongside Wasps Netball, Loughborough Lightning and Sirens, while Thunder are rooted to the bottom of the table after two defeats.
Katy Holland was an outstanding performer for Storm on Saturday, emphasising her importance with a pair of interceptions in the final quarter that prevented Thunder narrowing a nine-point deficit.
Storm had led 30-26 at half-time but Thunder threatened a share of the points by drawing level at 33-apiece during the third quarter.
Earlier, Lightning beat Severn Stars 56-44 and Sirens won 77-36 against Celtic Dragons. Wasps beat Team Northumbria 70-46.
