Wasps Netball won the Netball Superleague Grand Final on Sunday after beating Loughborough Lightning 55-51.
The result in Birmingham represented a triumphant first season for Coventry-based Wasps, who were formed last summer as the Superleague expanded to a 10-team format.
Tamsin Greenway, Wasps' Director of Netball, has now claimed two consecutive Grand Final victories after helping Surrey Storm scoop last year's prize.
League-leaders Lightning got off to the faster start, Peace Proscovia giving them a 10-7 lead inside the first quarter before stretching it to 12-8.
Yet Wasps, before the end of the 15th minute, had turned the tables and led 15-14 largely thanks to veteran pair Greenway and Rachel Dunn's consistent link-up play.
Lightning again took a brief lead in the second quarter, going 20-19 ahead through Proscovia, but Wasps again had the final say through Dunn and led 24-23 at half-time.
Natalie Haythornthwaite moved Wasps four goals clear in the third quarter, the biggest lead of the Grand Final so far, before her accuracy kept the new franchise ahead in the final period.
With the minutes dwindling, Wasps' five-goal lead was chipped away at, but Lightning could never get close enough to force extra-time.
