The 2018 NFL Draft will be held in Dallas, the league's commissioner Roger Goodell has confirmed.

Goodell said on Wednesday that the three-day event will be hosted at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which has been the home of the Cowboys since 2009.

It will mark the first time that the draft has taken place inside an NFL stadium.

Last year's draft was held in Philadelphia and boasted record attendances, with the two before that having taken place in Chicago.

Until that move in 2015, New York had been the draft's home for nearly 50 years at a variety of venues including Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall.

"Philadelphia raised the bar by taking the Draft to another level, and this new opportunity in Dallas will enable us to continue the event's evolution and grow it even further," Goodell said in a release.
