Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson are one of the best mixed doubles pair in world badminton, and they will be gunning for gold in Beijing after coming so close last time around in Athens.
The medal-laden pair made a superb run to the final in Athens but had to settle for silver after losing out in a thrilling match to Chinese stars Zhang Jun and Gao Ling.
Together Emms and Robertson have taken Commonwealth Games gold twice in 2002 and 2006, either side of their Olympic silver in Greece.
The duo also combined again to great effect to land the World Championship gold medal in Madrid in 2006 to further enhance their profile as Britain's greatest mixed doubles badminton players of all time.
Emms has also won national titles and a Commonwealth Games silver in the women's doubles, while Robertson has won the last four men's doubles events with Anthony Clark.
Despite their obvious talent in either singles or their respective doubles - it is in the mixed that they shine with their on-court partnership flourishing.
Emms has announced she will retire from the sport after the competition in Beijing and both her and Robertson will be desperate for a golden send-off in China.
Both of the star duo have been obsessed by the sport since an early age, with Emms taking up badminton as early as four, while Robertson first picked up his racquet as a six-year-old.
Emms, who holds a degree in Sports Science, made her England debut back in 1995 and has now been a professional for five years and now has five national titles with Robertson and four in the women's doubles.
From a sporting family, her mother played for England in the 1971 Women's World Cup.
Robertson also has a sporting background and he made his England debut as an 18-year-old against China and has gone on to play for his country 85 times.
Representing a big chance of a medal in Beijing, Britain's mixed doubles stars will hope to go one better than four years ago and complete the full haul of gold medals.
