Former FINA world champion Tom Daley is set to make his first competitive appearance since he was publicly warned to reduce his media commitments.
The 17-year-old will begin his FINA World Cup campaign in Thursday in the synchro platform at the Olympics Aquatic Centre.
British Swimming performance director Alexei Evangulov instructed the young diver to cut down media commitments or face missing an Olympic medal.
Along with these claims, Evangulov also alleged that Daley's Chinese rivals "trained three times harder".
Daley's management team, however, issued a statement on his behalf, stating that his diving would do the talking.
The duo of Daley and synchro partner Peter Waterfield will compete together for the first time since they finished sixth at last July's World Championships.
Tonia Crouch and Sarah Barrow made history as they snatched the bronze medal in the women's synchro competition, the first global medal for any British female.
Barrow said: "We are very, very happy.
"We went into the final knowing we could get a medal. There were little ups and downs but the last dive proved that we're definitely capable of a medal.
"It's really good for us. We've put in a lot of work over the past two years.
"It put us in a good place for the Olympics."
