What are your favourite Olympics memories?
Funnily enough my favourite memory is Ben Johnson winning the 100 metres in Seoul in 1988 - controversial I know! I was at University studying Sports Science and shared a house with five other 'jocks'. We were all huddled around the telly and after he won I remember one of the guys, Jim, a top class hammer thrower screaming 'Look at the time. Look at the time! Amazing!' Unfortunately we all know why now.
Who would you class as the greatest Olympian of all time?
Jesse Owens without doubt. To do what he did. Where he did. When he did. In front of who he did. Magnificent. Have some of that!
Will you get to see much of the London 2012 action?
Yes, I'm going. Sky Sports News is right in the thick of it. We will be broadcasting from a purpose-built studio overlooking the Olympic Park and I can't wait.
Which events are you most looking forward to?
I love the sprints so Usain Bolt, of course. He has transcended track and field. People know about him who know nothing about sport. That is how important he is.
How do you think Team GB will fare?
We will clean up in the sitting down sports - cycling, rowing and sailing. The others may as well not turn up. Stars? Sir Chris Hoy and Ben Ainslie will no doubt add to their already-bulging medal cabinets.
Do you think the legacy of London 2012 will benefit sport in general?
Oh yes. Kids will be inspired and want to emulate their heroes. It can only help British sport in the future. Every young kid will want to be Usain in the playground. You never know, we may find one.
What sport would you like to see added to the Olympics?
It would have to be a sport whose pinnacle would be an Olympic Gold. I don't think football or tennis - which have far bigger prizes than an Olympic medal - should be there. So something like Space Hopper racing.
If you were to enter the Olympics, which event would you choose and why?
The men's 100m. I reckon if I got a good start I could take that Bolt bloke.
Mike will be part of Sky Sports News HD's dedicated Olympics team, which includes expert analysts Sally Gunnell, Darren Campbell, Jon Ridgeon and Cassie Patten.
