Middleweight James DeGale wants to give Team GB a flying start to the Olympic boxing competition as he walks into the ring first in Beijing.
Both DeGale and light heavyweight Tony Jeffries will fight on the opening day of the Olympics on August 9, but London-born DeGale will kick-off Britain's challenge for medals.
Much is expected from the eight-strong team of British fighters, and 22-year-old DeGale wants to lead off in style by giving his team an early boost.
"I'm the first one in the ring and I can't wait to get the team off to a good start," said DeGale, who finds out his first-round opponent on Friday.
"I know I've got it. If everything goes right I know I can beat anyone in the world."
London calling
DeGale hopes to continue as an amateur and take part in the 2012 Games, which would see him boxing for an Olympic gold in front of his home crowd in London.
"It's my home city, can you imagine what it would be like to win a medal there?" he added.
Jeffries is also hoping to get off to a winning start, as the 23-year-old kicks-off his light heavyweight title bid also on Saturday.
The Sunderland scrapper qualified with a great display at the World Championships in Chicago last November, and fears no-one in Beijing.
"I've done a lot of hard training. It's getting closer and everyone is anxious to get in there and start fighting," said Jeffries.
"I'm feeling good, so I can fight anyone. Once I've got the first fight out of the way I'll get better and better."
