A lack of wind has again halted Britain's gold medal bid in the Olympic sailing regatta, with Ben Ainslie criticising the event organiser's choice of venue.

Races in the Finn class eventually got underway on Saturday 85 minutes after the scheduled start, but as weather conditions fluctuated the ten competing boats were recalled.

All Finn and Yngling races at Qingdao have now been postponed until Sunday, delaying Ainslie's bid for a third successive gold and further angering the 31-year old.

Annoying

"It's annoying for sailing as a sport, it does not look good when you can't race because there is no wind," Ainslie commented.

"It's not the sport's fault, it's not the sailors' fault, it's the fact that we have been put in this venue where we do not get any wind.

"With this venue we always knew it was going to be a bit like this, I think you have to accept it and try not to let it wind you up to much.

"It's only going to make the challenge harder for you."

Ainslie currently lies first in the Finn class, 12 points ahead of Zach Railey and with at least a silver medal assured.

Meanwhile, Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson hold a one-point advantage over the Netherlands in the Yngling event.
