Congrats to Rebecca and the others. I managed to see some of the cycling, but I am hoping they will also show the swim by Rebecca later. On behalf of a number of British expats in sunny Sal, Cape Verde....well done!

Congratulations to the GB team, I think you are doing brilliantly. The highspot for me was seeing Rebecca A storm home to gold, along with her team mate taking Bronze. I was on holiday in the US and turned on the TV on a random channel for a few minutes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. What a race!

As a sidelined cyclist I have been really pleased to be thrilled by proxy by that element of team GB reaping such a rich reward for their combined efforts, Wasn't it just a delight particularly to see Nicole's joy shine through the whole day from the finish of her road race to the interviews in the evening! Well done all!

We live about 700 yards away as the crow flies from Rebecca Adlington's home and we contragulate her for the fantastic perfomance in the swimming at the olympics. Thank you to the parents for the hard work that they have put in for her to be a success.

Congratulations to all our medallists, a truly great day for GB. It is particularly pleasing to see us doing well in cycling and swimming, which are not really traditional British sports. Incredible how we have got so good at cycling so quickly... must be something in the water up in Manchester!
