Froch to be a real life Super-man?

Carl Froch takes on Andre Dirrell in the standout fight of the Super Six World Boxing Classic this weekend. The Brit is fighting in his home town of Nottingham and is Sky Bet's 1/2 favourite to defeat the up-and-coming American (6/4).

Froch: belt on the line against Andre Dirrell.

Froch: belt on the line against Andre Dirrell.

Froch comes off the back of an astonishing win over another American boxer and Super Six rival Jermain Taylor. In that fight, 'The Cobra' was behind on points going into the final round but pulled off an amazing knockout victory with only 14 seconds remaining. Froch is 15/8 with Sky Bet to defeat the unbeaten American hotshot at any time in rounds 1-12.

The Super Six tournament features the six best super middleweight fighters in the world. Froch is Sky Bet's 5/2 second favourite to win it behind fellow super middleweight world titlist Mikkel Kessler (9/4). Olympic medallist Dirrell is a 9/1 outsider.

Sky Bet's boxing betting expert Scott Springgay said: "Any one of the six fighters could win this title. Froch has a tough opening fight but there will be no easy fights in this tournament.

"Fighting in front of his home fans will give Froch a massive boost, which should see him take the league points and make a confidence-boosting start to the series."

The Super Six pits three Europeans (Kessler, Froch, and Abraham) against three Americans (Taylor, Ward, and Dirrell) and Sky Bet make a European winner favourite at 1/7. 4/1 is available for one of the Americans to take the title.

Premier League goal glut to continue?

A whopping 228 goals have been scored in the Premier League so far this season, at an average of 3 goals per game. Sky Bet are offering odds on how many goals will be scored in the top flight this weekend (Saturday to Monday) and go 8/11 for 27 or more. It's 5/1 that the goal to game ratio at the end of the season exceeds 3.00 goals.

Free-scoring Arsenal, who entertain Birmingham on Saturday, have scored 14 goals in their three Barclays Premier League home games so far and Sky Bet offer 9/4 that the Gunners fire four of more goals this weekend and 100/30 that they win by a margin of four goals or more.

Wenger's men are long odds on at 2/7 with Sky Bet to be the first team to score 30 goals, having found the net 24 times already. Arsenal's 6-2 drubbing of Blackburn is the highest scoring match of the season so far and Sky Bet go 33/1 that any match this weekend generates 9 goals or more.

What will Harry do first at Pompey?

Despite a likely hostile reception, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp claims to be relishing the trip back to Portsmouth on Saturday and Sky Bet are offering odds on what he will do first in the match. It's 5/6 for Redknapp to get off to a good start with the first event being a Spurs goal, while it's 9/4 that the opposition will mark his return by scoring first. Sky Bet go 9/2 that Redknapp makes a substitution before any of the other six eventualities and it's 25/1 that the first incident of the match sees him sent to the stands. 100/1 is quoted about an incident-free match for Harry, with the final whistle being the first event to occur.

Peter Crouch, Niko Kranjcar and Kevin-Prince Boateng will face their former clubs for the first time this season and Sky Bet offer 5/6 for any of the trio to get on the score sheet. It's 11/2 for former Pompey strike duo Crouch and Defoe both to score against their old club.

After Emmanuel Adebayor's over-the-top goal celebrations resulted in an improper conduct charge from the FA, Sky Bet go 4/1 that any player is booked for a goal celebration at Fratton Park on Saturday.

Pompey are still to record their first home win in the league and Sky Bet make Wigan's trip to Fratton Park on Halloween 2/1 favourite to provide their first home win. It's 7/2 that Paul Hart's side get their win against Spurs on Saturday. 11/4 is quoted for them to go another four home games without a win.
