33/1 Liverpool lose to Debrecen and Benitez gone by midnight

It's crunch time in the Champions League this evening when Liverpool travel to Hungary to take on the Soproni Liga champions Debrecen, live on Sky Sports 2 from 7:45pm.

Five-time champions Liverpool know that they must overcome Debrecen to have any hope of reaching the last 16 but they also need Olympique Lyon, who are already through, not to lose against Fiorentina in Italy. Sky Bet are offering 7/4 for Liverpool to beat Debrecen and Lyon to lose.

Benitez admits his side face a tough task to qualify.

Benitez admits his side face a tough task to qualify.

It's 33/1 for Liverpool to lose in Hungary and Benitez to have parted company with the club by midnight and it's 4/5 for the Reds to win their remaining two matches in Group E.

Sky Bet's Tim Reynolds said: "Liverpool shouldn't have any problems overcoming Debrecen, who have lost all four of their group matches so far. The problem Benitez's side are going to have is relying on Lyon to get a result against a Fiorentina side that have so far won all their matches at home in Europe."

Arsenal, who are four points clear at the top of their group and only need a point against Standard Liege to secure passage to the knock-out stages of the Champions League are, 3/10 to overcome the Belgium champions tomorrow (9/2 Draw & 8/1 Standard Liege).

It's 5/4 for the current Barclays Premier leaders Chelsea to progress the furthest from the five British sides (7/4 Man Utd, 5/2 Arsenal, 25/1 Liverpool and 250/1 Rangers), 11/2 that two English sides contest the final and 16/1 that the final is a repeat of the 2007/08 Man United v Chelsea showdown.

Federer 9/2 to come from a set down and win

Following Andy Murray's victory over the US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro in his opening match of the ATP Tour Finals in London, Sky Bet are offering 11/10 for Murray to overcome Rodger Federer today.

Federer, who had to come from a set down to beat Spain's Fernando Verdasco in his opening match is 8/11 to overcome Murray and it's 9/2 that the world number one again comes from a set down to claim victory.

Murray, who recently won the Valencia Open after coming back from a wrist injury, is 13/2 to win any set 6-0 and is 4/1 to be eliminated at the current group stage. It's 11/8 for Britain's number one to be eliminated in the semi-finals, 3/1 he finishes as runner-up and it's 3/1 he goes on to lift the title.

Sky Bet's tennis betting expert Amarjit Saini said: "Murray leads the head-to-head 6-3 but Federer maintains he has won the most important matches, thrashing the Scot in the 2008 US Open final. Then, after winning their last encounter in Cincinnati a couple of months ago, Federer claimed he has "worked out" how to beat Britain's number one.

"In reality, we expect this match to be as close as past meetings but Federer will need to up his game otherwise Murray is likely to extend his winning record over the world number one."

Nitties 8/1 to win New South Wales Open

Sky Bet have broken new ground this week by pricing up the PGA Tour of Australasia's New South Wales Open, which will be hosted by Nathan Green.

The 2009 NSW Open has attracted its best playing field in years and Sky Bet make PGA star James Nitties, who recently came fifth in the JBWere Masters, 8/1 favourite to win. The tournament host Nathan Green is 9/1 second favourite in the betting, with Tim Wilkinson next best at 14/1.

European Tour stalwart Peter O'Malley will be cheered on by a home crowd at the Vintage Golf Club and is a 20/1 chance to win, while former PGA Tour winner Andre Stolz is quoted at 25/1.

Sky Bet's golf betting expert, John Rhodes, said: "With golf winding down for the year, the Australian Tour is starting to kick in, and Nathan Green has done well in attracting some good players for this week's New South Wales Open, which is the ideal preparation for the Australian Open."
