Taylor 5/6 to average 112 or more

Ahead of the start of the World Matchplay darts, Sky Bet make Phil Taylor the 2/5 favourite to go on and claim his 11th World Matchplay title.

After defeating Robert Thornton in the first round of last year's event with a three dart average of 97.19, Taylor went on to average over 106 in every round. It's 5/6 that the world number one shows his true class this year and averages 112 or more in any round of the Blackpool event (5/6 under 112). 5/6 is also on offer for Taylor's tournament average to be 105 or more (5/6 under 105).

Can anybody stop the Power?

Can anybody stop the Power?

The 2002 tournament saw Taylor raise the roof of the Winter Gardens when he hit the first ever nine dart finish to be broadcast live on UK television. It's 5/1 that the Power manages to achieve the feat again this year. It's 5/6 the Power records 31 or more maximums throughout the tournament (5/6 30 or fewer) and 11/2 he hits a 170 checkout.

Sky Bet's Tim Reynolds said: "Taylor will be eager to make it a hat-trick of World Matchplay titles and with the form he's been showing recently somebody is really going to have to produce some spectacular darts to stop the Power."

Take That reunited and now 8/1 for Christmas Number 1 single

Sky Bet are offering 8/1 for Take That to be number one in the singles chart this Christmas following the news that the band have settled their differences with Robbie Williams and have recorded a new album together, which is due to be released in November this year.

The group's new album will be their first with the full line-up since 1995 and it's 6/4 that the album tops the album chart at Christmas. 2/5 is on offer for Take That to have a number one single during 2010.

Sky Bet's Tim Reynolds said: "If Take That decide to release a single at the same time as their album or find themselves performing on X Factor, the 8/1 for them to top the single charts at Christmas could represent some great value."

Williams, who left millions of teenage girls in tears by walking out on the group at the height of their fame in 1995, is 6/1 to quit the group during the tour, which gets underway next summer. It's 25/1 for Robbie to walk out on the band live on stage.

Sky Bet are also offering 8/1 for any one of the other four band members to quit next summers tour and 33/1 that two of the members fight live on stage.

Fabregas eased to 5/2 to sign for Barca this summer

Sky Bet have eased Cesc Fabregas' odds to 5/2 (from 1/8) to join Barcelona in the current transfer window following comments from the Barcelona president Sandro Rosell that they are not confident about securing the services of the Arsenal captain prior to the start of the new season. Barca were reported to have put in a bid in the region of €35million for the Spanish international but that was turned down by the Arsenal prior to the World Cup.

Sky Bet's Tim Reynolds said: "Everybody thought that Fabregas was on his way to the Nou Camp but following Rosell's comments it looks as if Wenger has managed to keep hold of his captain, which is a great result for Sky Bet having laid the Spanish international to sign for Barcelona since the end of the 2009/10 season."

It's 4/7 that Fabregas signs for Barcelona after the 2010/11 season but prior to the start of the 2011/12 season and 4/1 he signs any time after the 2011/12 season.

Hannon 2/1 for rich Reward in Super Sprint

Sky Bet will be paying four places instead of three on the Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday with the extra place offer going live from 6pm on Friday evening.

Richard Hannon has won the race seven times before, including last year with Monsieur Chevalier and Sky Bet have installed stable no.1 Reckless Reward as 9/2 favourite to emulate his former stablemate.

The Norfolk runner-up bids to follow the same route to victory as last year's winner who was beaten in the Royal Ascot Group 2 in fifth before outclassing his field in the Weatherbys sponsored sales race.

Hannon's other representatives in the five furlong contest are Kojak, Bilko Pak, Roches Des Vents, Jaahiz and Takeaway with Sky Bet offering 2/1 for the East Everleigh trainer to win it with any of his six strong raiding party.

Matt Doyle of Sky Bet said: 'The race has been a Richard Hannon benefit over the years and Ryan Moore's booking for Reckless Reward set the alarm bells ringing for an unprecedented eighth success.'

Sky Bet will also be paying ¼ odds place terms on the feature juvenile contest at Newbury, while over at Newmarket the firm will pay improved ¼ odds place terms instead of 1/5th in the 3.00, 3.30 and 5.15 races

Sky Bet the proud sponsors of third annual Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival

Welcome to the opening day of the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival staged at Ripon on Saturday July 17th and featuring the £20,000 added Bell-Ringer Handicap.

Yorkshire's garden course is a perfect starting point on a whistle stop tour for racing fans with a feast of top class action ahead over the next nine days to celebrate all that is best in racing in the county.

York stages the Festival highlight with a two-day meeting headlined by the Sky Bet Dash and Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes on Saturday week and won last year by Frankie Dettori on Kirklees for Godolphin.

And Festival sponsors Sky Bet will be supporting the feature race for the other meetings at Redcar, Beverley, Catterick, Doncaster and Thirsk next week, with the Festival ending at Pontefract on Sunday 25th July.

The only blank day of racing in Yorkshire is next Tuesday 20th July when Richard Fahey opens the doors to his Malton yard and racefans could get the chance to meet stable jockey Paul Hanagan.

The leading northern rider is currently running away with the Flat jockeys' title race and is 2/5 with Sky Bet to be crowned Champion jockey for the first time this year.

Sky Bet PR Director Dale Tempest enthused: 'The Festival is in its third year and at Sky Bet we are proud of the part we have played in the ongoing success story as main sponsor of the event.'

'Every year we try and do something different so this year, to help try and raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, we'll be offering over £1,500 of free bets to Racing UK presenters, plus Richard Fahey and top tipster David Ord from sportinglife.com.'

Racegoers can also follow daily tips in the Sky Bet sponsored races each day, starting at Ripon on Saturday in the Supporting Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap with £9,000 of prize-money up for grabs.
